5.0 out of 5 stars UNIQUE SOUND April 25, 2010
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Lovewar has a sound all of its own. It is unique and any Christian rock fan should enjoy listening to it. There style and different sounding vocals sets them apart from other bands out there. I like the crispness of their sound and the energy that flows from each song. Buy it- you will like!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the good ones May 10, 2013
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Looked for and purchased this CD after hearing a song from it. Sometimes it's anyone's guess what an entire CD will sound like but this one is a winner start to finish. Not exactly sure how describe the style but a mix of King's X and Faith No More definitely comes through along with the band's own ingredients. Great messages with solid rock music. Good stuff.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, but not memorable October 25, 2012
Format:Audio CD
Whenever I hear the names John & Dino Elefante on producing duty, I usually know the record is going to be awesome! However with this band, Lovewar, they kind of threw up a dud. I guess everyone is entitled to a downer every now and again.

My biggest issue with this release is, these guys can't seem to make up their mind on their sound. Are they grunge? Are they hair metal, or melodic rock? I guess the answer lies somewhere in between the three. Lovewar use some crunching guitar riffs similar to Soundgarden, melodies like the a Swedish band and the hair metal sound like the Brave's first record. The problem is that they don't use any of them effectively, and you lose your focus rather quickly with this release. The album is not all bad though. The Elefante's do an amazing as usualy production job, and tracks like "Take Me" and "Keep Your Hands Off My Stuff " are enjoyable.

I can't say this record is essential in the least, but if you like John & Dino's production, and good crunchy guitar licks, you may want to check this album out. It's still rather cheap and easy to find, and for what you pay it's worth it. Just don't expect Guardian, Fear Not or the Brave.
