GTA releases its first compilation and it is a winner, starting off with Shiners reconstructed cover of My Bloody Valentines only shallow (exclusive to this release!) and features another 18 gems to follow! Bands include The Silent League, Tiara, Sheilbound, Duraluxe, Sciflyer, Absinthe Blind, Wayne Everett, Frank Lenz, Electro Group, Camden, Lull Account and many more! 19 songs in all by 19 artists. This compilation was a monster to sequence and is a great introduction to the label! The best comp youll ever buy. You wont be sorry. "Compilations are a tough proposition for your everyday music blogger. Most of the time you end up with a few great songs, a few bad ones and a large amount of mediocre filler. I try to avoid them at all cost, but I recently got a package that had what may very well end up becoming one of the best compilations I own. It features new and unreleased music from a collection of bands that have released music on Grand Theft Autumn or have been close to the label through related projects or collaborations and journeys with the former bands of the label owners. Trust me, it?s not by lack of talent that these bands have flown under the radar. It?s one of the unfair realities of the current music landscape, that for every band you enjoy there are another 50 that you?ve never heard of that are even better. Kicking things off with a track from the most well-known band of the bunch, the now defunct Shiner, the disc ebbs and flows from one track to the next, almost seamlessly, better than any mix tape I ever spent weeks working on. And that is the impression that this disc radiates, that the Grand Theft Autumn guys got around and made each and every one of us a personal mix tape with songs from their favorite bands, bands that they know you would like, but haven?t heard yet. Of course I have my favorites of the bunch, as you will have yours and they will differ from your neighbors, but the greatness of this disc, and what sets it beyond the average compilation, is that its strength lays not in the greatness of the tracks it contains but in its ability to act as a complete album of great songs that everyone with any human decency will enjoy." - Mike, Em P Me music blog
