4.0 out of 5 stars more fiction than how-to
The how-to part of this book is basically a reprint and expansion on this section of his previous book "Leathersex". The book has three sections: first longer fiction interspersed with non-fiction chapters focused on safety issues. A topic that is missing and needed is how to get a partner interested in this type of sex play or how to find someone interested in it at...

2.0 out of 5 stars If You're Gay It's OK...If You're Straight, Run For The Gate
I reviewed this book at the request of an alternative publication. I was asked if I would review it and was told that it was about water sports. Since I don't in principal, have any problem with that subject, I agreed to read and review it.

Upon reading the book I discovered it covers heavy water sports between males only. It is written by and for gay men and...

This review is from: Soaked! The Watersports Handbook for Men (A Boner Book) (Paperback)
The how-to part of this book is basically a reprint and expansion on this section of his previous book "Leathersex". The book has three sections: first longer fiction interspersed with non-fiction chapters focused on safety issues. A topic that is missing and needed is how to get a partner interested in this type of sex play or how to find someone interested in it at all. The second part of the book is seven short stories very focused on watersports. The last part looks at resources you can use to find more information and more fiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wetter is Better, August 1, 2004
This review is from: Soaked! The Watersports Handbook for Men (A Boner Book) (Paperback)
Probably right after bondage, the most basic erotic play that people find themselves getting into is water sports. After all, how complicated can a little WS action be? But it's our attraction to that warm wetness that noted author and historian Joseph Bean takes a goggle-eyed look at here. From the bad to the good and the really, really good, "Soaked" is written in a no nonsense style, presenting some of the finer points of play, in addition to some hot artwork, a little history, golden fiction and even a quote from Benjamin Franklin! So if you're going to get wet, get "Soaked."

This review is from: Soaked! The Watersports Handbook for Men (A Boner Book) (Paperback)
I reviewed this book at the request of an alternative publication. I was asked if I would review it and was told that it was about water sports. Since I don't in principal, have any problem with that subject, I agreed to read and review it.

Upon reading the book I discovered it covers heavy water sports between males only. It is written by and for gay men and is not of particular use to straight couples. It contains brief sections of "fact" interspersed with sections of "fictional" material that cover the subject. Most of the material is geared towards "hardcore" enthusiasts and has little to offer the "recreational" player.

In addition to the above issues, I found poor editing. There were numerous typographical errors and punctuation issues. Not a very good read, even for gays with inclinations toward this type of sexual behavior.

This is an excellent book for the M/s groups to learn more about true watersports from its source.

4.0 out of 5 stars your inate desires, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Soaked! The Watersports Handbook for Men (A Boner Book) (Paperback)
This book will sure open your eyes if you never thought about drinking the stuff. If you're already a pro, it's a nice frolic through the mind of a kindred spirit.
