TOTALLY, RELATE-ABLE!!!,
This review is from: Sober (Explicit) (MP3 Download)
This song grew on me, solely from the lyrical content/subject matter. At the initial time of release, I was going through things similar to those spoke of in this song.

I got this track for a friend, but I ended up liking it, too. It is not P!nk's best work, but catchy nonetheless.

This is an amazing song that picks up right where she left off with her last CD...What I don't understand is why Amazon has it marked "explicit" because there isn't anything even slightly explicit in here!

I love Pink. She used to be mainly R&B/hip hop but she's definitely come into her own and her music style.
It's a slower melody but still has the edge that I've come to know and love.

For Pink, this past year has really been a tough year for her. After her saddened divorce with her skateboarder husband, she still has shown she has a great face in appeal with her music. That showed well with So What, and the ironic appeal of having her ex in the viudeo which was in good spirits. As for her latest single from Funhouse, Sober delivers a deeper and more dormid appeal that stands out in her feelings from her divorce. The song isn't bad, and brings in a mood that shows her feelings and depths of her voice fairly. while the song isn't bad, it isn't Pink's best song that shines, where as the case with her earlier songs like Stupid Girls and the deep Family Portrait showed. Honestly though, it is much better than what Britney Spears has delivered after her marriage died. I just hope for Pink though, that her next song clicks much more with listeners.

Drink you sober,

"Sober" is a more somber take on Pink's recent divorce from skater/tattoist husband Corey Hart. It's a surprisingly thoughtful song from the diva more well-known for her outspoken views than her music. "Sober" is reflective, melancholy, a look back at a broken relationship. "Sober" is intoxicating, like a glass of wine to numb the pain of a breakup.

Great song,

Don't know if she wrote it, but it is a great song. After hearing her "weak" flow on the last single from this album I was beginning to feel like she had passed over to mediocre side.
Still not sure if the album is worth it, but the song is. Even if her vocals are a bit weak and it sounds overproduced, it is good. McDonalds good, Burger King good, perhaps with the same feeling of eating at either places after listening a bit too long. P!nk: MOAR, moar like this.

I think Pink is an awesome singer with some great songs, but this is my first CD from her. She's crazy but strong, and I like people who aren't afraid of putting it out there. However, I can't share my preference for some of her songs, such as Funhouse because of the unneeded expletives (the "F Word") is used near the end, which really isn't necessary to get the idea of the song across, and is rather jarring. Perhaps she does have a mainstream version, but like James Blunt's debut into the big time, it isn't easy to find. Pink, you are very talented, but you'd definitely have more fans if you knock out the expletives. You know it's good to get fans while they are young, too, along with old fogeys like me, right? After all, you want them to say about your music, "It used to be a Funhouse".
I'm not a fan of the entire album (expletive or no expletive), but there are some true gems. I like Funhouse and Please Don't Leave Me (Love the video on this one). Love the Wild and Crazy, but would like to share, so I get to hear it more around kids and stuffy DH. Oh, and of course, I couldn't imagine playing it for my getting-up-there parents! Oh the gasps! More than when I was a teen! |
