La India has done it again, mujeres y hombres. I still think she holds the title of Latina Aretha Franklin in my eyes. Each cut displays her talents in a different dimension. From the title cut, Sobre El Fuego (a Spanish remake of Through the Fire, by Chaka Khan), to La Voz de La Experiencia (duo con Celia Cruz), she shows off that wailing, expressive voice that we have come to know and love.

This is definitely great music to keep in rotation for any salsa party, or even a day at the beach. If this won't bring out the sunshine in your heart, nothing will.

I love every song on this album, but none more than the duet with Celia Cruz. India has one of the best voices along with Marc Anthony. I listen to both of them every day on the freeways. I have every one of their albums and wish they would come out with more. I also recommend Celia's latest album "Mi Vida Es Cantar".

HER SONGS, THE WORDS ARE JUST INCREDIBLE. THEY HAVE MADE ME A STRONGER PERSON. I WAS GOING THROUGH SOME MARITAL PROBLEMS AT THE TIME OF THIS RELEASE, AND IT MADE ME GET THROUGH SOME ROUGH TIMES. I LOVE HER, AND HER VOICE, I THINK SHE'S THE BEST FEMALE SALSA VOCALIST!!!

This Is La India's most fine tuned album. Her vocal range is beautiful! For proof listen to "Mi Mayor Venganza", when India sings "El que juega con fuego se puede quemar" listen to the last harmonious, spine-tingling chord. The duet track "Voz de la Experiencia" with Celia Cruz make this album worth your money! The Princess of Salsa Music and the Queen together at last! Her title track, "Sobre El Fuego" is a spanish version of the Chaka Kahn signature song, "Through The Fire" and beautifully done. India also shows her writing skill on this album with the self-written song, "Si Estuvieras Aqui". By far one of the best salsa artists and albums out there. Watch out, because here comes India!

I think la India is a strong role model for latinas,her srenght comes out in her music.I can relate to the words in her songs because I also am a strong latina. I strongly believe la India is the new "Queen of salsa",sorry celia.

Others have praised this album appropriately. I'd just like to add that she is technically a marvel. Her handling of tempo is extraordinary, particularly given the constant changes characteristic of her work. But what jumped out for me was her diction, which is unbelievably clear and precise. Thinking of singers in other music genres who have this quality, I would name Dawn Upshaw and Suzy Bogguss.

I've been a fan of india for a long while. She is my idol. I've also had the honor of meeting her in person. She is sweet, humble and graceful...not to mention very beautiful. She has amazing talent and sings all her songs with passion as well as strength. You go girl and keep up the good work. Keep those albums coming!

This album is so good, I was waiting for her to come out with another CD and to my surprise she did. India has alot of movement in her songs and she interprets them very well with feeling.That was one of the reasons for my purchase of the CD. I already have three and counting. To anyone who doesn't own any India CD's she's a must have, she'll keep your party going.
