I am only a few chapters into this book so far, but it seems to be a good read. I have already learned several new things about aging and look forward to my continued reading. My only complaint so far is that while interesting, I think that there are too many statistics. This kind of takes away the importance of some of the more pertinent facts and would be far too many to memorize.

The class I am taking is called SOCIAL GERONTOLOGY and deals with getting older. I am taking the course to find out what I can expect to happen based on my current lifestyle at age fifty. The book gets into the physical and mental(emotional) sides of aging. Every time I pick it up to read, I learn something new, that is the mark of a good book to me, if it learns me something and holds my interest instead of falling asleep with it in my lap.
Most of the people in the class are going to be health care workers with the elderly, I am glad to see so many truely caring, compassionate, young people. I thought we had missed a generation of socially aware youth, not so.

This book is horrible. You can't distinguish between age groups because the book is written so oddly. There also too many charts and graphs. This is going to be a long semester.

Book came in good condition. No highlighting, underlining or writing inside. Needed for my health class.

Book has lots of information. Shows different conclusions when results of studies are dissimilar. Lots of references. Used as text for a class. Well organized.

My middle daughter just started college and discovered the Gerentology class is very interesting to her. This book she says is amazing. She told me this is far the best out of all her classes. Atleast she loves college thats the main thing right now but since she is only a freshman that can change. She has decided to major in Gerentology.

Book is as promised, I would recomend that the book be sold as a complete set.
