5.0 out of 5 stars A timeless book on human behavior; one of the most interesting and best written books ever., January 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Social psychology (Paperback)
Social Psychology 1st edition is one of the most interesting and stimulating books ever. It makes you think and creates many "ah ha" moments. I was fortunate to get the first edition after I first read the second edition. I wrote Dr. Brown (back in the early 90's) and told him how much the book caused me to rethink human behavior. He responded with a long hand written letter answering many of my questions and raising many interesting points. It is a letter I have and treasure. He told me the 1st edition was actually a completely different book covering different topics but hard to get as the publishers stopped printing it after the 2nd edition came out. Well, I finally got the "first" edition and now the first and second edition are two of my favorite books. I feel like they are timeless classics. They are not just "Psychology" books but books that really make you think and question. While completely different books, I recommend Social Psychology 1st and 2nd edition by Roger Brown as two of the finest books ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic and wonderful entry to social psychology, December 9, 1999
By
M. (California, USA) - See all my reviews
I read this book for the first time in 1987. The years have passed but still Roger Brown's observations and description provides a brilliant and wonderful reading for both academics and the lay reader. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in learining about social psychology.

From one of the best psychologists of the century comes one of the best texts on psychology of the century. Beautifully written in an entertaining style, this book will change how you view the social world around you. A must on any psychology major's shelf, or anyone else interested in social psychology.
