Book Description

January 1, 2006
This book contains two short stories. The first story teaches children how to manage their anger in an appropriate manner. The second story teaches children to share and take turns with their peers.

Each story is presented with delightful illustrations featuring a child who navigates a world that is sometimes confusing or intimidating. As he learns new social and coping skills, he gains a better understanding of how to react to or behave in specific situations.

A perfect addition to the book is the section of comprehension questions at the end of each story. This ingenious idea reinforces learning and helps the reader thoroughly understand what's expected. This book also has a track record of success in helping children with autism and those with social delays.

Editorial Reviews

Review

I find that anger and sharing are a constant problem for young children. It s not easy to recognize and control our feelings at such a young age. I was thrilled to find this book which really speaks to young kids. The events in the stories are typical of every child's day. It explains in very simple terms about the appropriate way to react in social situations and is very effective book. I highly recommend it to all those with young children. --Linda Amaro, Ph.D, Child Psychologist

My Son LOVES these books he reads them again and again and again (By far an improvement over that horrible purple dinosaur books. This is a group of books that you can read to the child or the child can read by himself (If he can) it teaches in an easy to understand and not aversive way very important life and social skills, the illustrations are great as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Now I get it. Getting Angry Social Story, February 26, 2010
This review is from: Social Story - Getting Angry and Sharing (Paperback)
This Very simple social story clearly illustrates with both pictures and words the complex situations children face every day. For children with delays it is a must have! All children can benefit from this story, but it is so beneficial to children who have difficulties understanding the daily social nuances. It brings these situations to a very basic level that the child can understand. Where was this ten years ago?Social Story - Getting Angry and Sharing

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't be happier, September 15, 2009
This review is from: Social Story - Getting Angry and Sharing (Paperback)
Every young kid should have this book. My kids love it. It's cute. It's simple. It explains just how a kid should behave, in simple language, in a way they understand. I don't hear myself constantly saying "You have to share" anymore. And believe me - that's a very agood thing!
