An excellent historical essay of women in law enforcement,
By A Customer
This review is from: From Social Worker to Crimefighter: Women in United States Municipal Policing (Paperback)
This book provides a wealth of information about the emergence of women in law enforcement. Although women still are having a tough time making it into command ranks, they are succeeding in greater numbers - thanks to their courage, perseverance, and dedication to service. It is through the leadership of women like Penny Harrington, Jadel Roe, Debora Byers, Fay Brooks, Bev Hall - and others who blasted through the blue wall - that other women may look to law enforcement as a viable career option.
