Societe Roquefort is the best of the best,

Roquefort is definitely an acquired taste, not the typical blue cheese; much different than Danish or Maytag blue's. And still more flavorful than Gorgonzola.
Societe Roquefort is a creamy, white cheese with blue-green veins; it is firm, yet crumbly. It is creamy but bold; both tangy and spicy. A wonderful cheese that goes well with wine and fruit. Among Roqueforts, Societe brand is typically regarded as the best of the best. This cheese is a staple in my family. My son has loved this cheese from the moment he tried it as an infant. He eats if off a fork- no time for bread! (He despises American Cheese.) ( *** The previous reviewer was unfair in his review as he reviewed a *bad* wedge. He admits that it was covered in 'some sort of rot.' It must not have been kept refrigerated and/or packed for shipping properly by the seller. Instead of giving this wonderful cheese one star, he should rightfully have returned it for a refund or replacement!)

Smuggling,
By
This review is from: Societe Roquefort Cheese - Whole Wedge
Roquefort cheese deserves the title of "king of cheeses", and rightfully so. When I went to the caves, two and a half years ago, I purchased about a round and a half, paying 40-50 euros, and proceeded to eat a quarter of a round on the return trip to the hotel. It was only after everyone else in the groups bags had been searched that I realized the importance of the cheese, and the net value of the smuggling (of what was left) was about USD $200. I became a very happy camper, and only have run out a mater of months ago, upon finding a small wedge of heaven in the depths of my freezer.

I love Societe Roquefort but the price on this is $26.66 a pound and I get it at Trader Joe's for $12.99 a pound.

The cheese came in a timely fashion. But it was all covered in some sort of rot and tasted terrible. It no way had the lovely flavor of roquefort cheese. Never again.
