THis is truly a good game for the PSP. I was amazed at how well I was able to control this game. I could command my teammate almost as easily as I could control myself. Zooming in and out was easy. Aiming was easy. Weapon selection was easy. But here is the problem. The game is easy. The single player game hardley ramps up with any difficulty. Even when you drastically change the dificulty level. The graphics could possibly even be called poor. Finally, there is no major creativity here. Over and over again you do a very similar thing. Go in and take out the bad guys, or go in and save a good guy. Though this is fun, creativity is appreciated. All of that said. This game does have online multiplayer in a big way, and yes it does support voice chat and microphone headset use. Incredible that a PSP game can do this.
Bottom Line: Great game with minor drawbacks.

The SOCOM series came around a few years ago, and was a fairly silent launch title. After being played by thousands of people all over the world, it became pretty popular. A little while later, SOCOM 2 was released, and attracted SOCOM veterans as well as new players. SOCOM 3 was just recently released late this year, and it brought back former players, and yet more new players. However, many people have been dissapointed in SOCOM 3, so a lot went back to SOCOM 2.
Should they have? SOCOM Fireteam Bravo came out shortly after SOCOM 3 for the Playstation 2, and to me in many ways it is better. The Good: Nice graphics, Nice level design, Decent selection of guns, UNBELIEVABLE ONLINE PLAY, solid single player, connects to PS2 for SOCOM 3 and Fireteam Bravo unlockables, can hear other players without mic while playing online. The Bad: Few glitches, repetetive missions at time, not nearly as many guns as SOCOM 2 or 3, Need another mic to talk online, take a lot of bullets to kill someone, lock on feature can make newbies kings, hard to throw grenades unless you're used to its strange style. SOCOM Fireteam Bravo delivers a lot more than I anticipated. 14 great missions, pretty solid graphics, awesome online play. ( Usually 10-25 thousand people are on all day every day! ) Graphics: 8/10. Many think that the graphics are bland for this game. They are certainly not as good as other PSP titles, but they still are fantastic. The characters don't show much style and texture, but the enviroments sure are great. Sound: 9/10. Similar to SOCOM 2 and 3 in many ways as far as the sound goes. The guns sound great, the foot steps, grenades, voices, all great. The only downfall is that there is no music during games online. I was suprised at how much this actually brought down my way of "getting into the game." But not so much. Control: 8/10. The controls at first ( for me ) were almost impossible to control. I couldn't do anything or kill anybody, but for having one analog stick, Zipper makes this game rock. You use the analog nub to move, hold L to strafe, R to lock on, X to shoot, hold triangle to switch from gun to grenades, tap it to stand, crouch or prone, and so on. It's actually pretty easy, even if it will take you about a half hour to get used to them good enough to take the game online and whoop arse. Fun: 9.5/10. Single player is certainly a blast, even if it doesn't last long, and it is kind of easy, but if you want the full experience of Fireteam bravo, you must play online. Great level design, very little lag for the most part, awesome fun, and the replay value is the best among any PSP title in my opinion. Fireteam bravo offers much more than any other SOCOM game in my opinion, so you must buy this game. ( This game is rated M for violence, but it really should be T. )

This game is painfully good. The graphics aren't console-quality mind you, but my God what a fun game. Most impressive is how they nailed the controls on the tricky PSP (no right thumbstick). These controls, (unlike "Battlefront 2 PSP) are smooth and come like second nature.
The missions are cool, and the game is user-friendly as far as the difficulty is concerned. Much, much better than I could have imagined. Fans of the series, or of "Ghost Recon" will love this.

Um, how exactly do I begin? How about; OMFG! SOCOM ON THE PSP?! SOCOM on the go?! Have I died and gone to heaven?! Well I doubt I would be in heaven, so I know I'm not dead.
Everyone has said or will say this first; "Socom on PSP? How would that work with only 1 analog stick?" They might even say; "Sony is just trying to cash in on a franchise hit." Well if they are just trying to cash in, what's your address Sony, let me send you some extra money cause you deserve it! Socom on the PSP is very strange at first, having to adjust to the controls. As I was reading the manual, I thought to myself, omg - I hope I can take this game back. The analog is used to move you forward and back, and turn left and right. Hold down the L button while using the analog and it becomes forward and back and strafe left and right. Hold down the R button to lock onto targets and X to shoot. While locked on targets, press L to switch between other available targets within range. Locked on targets are not sure hits, get down on one knee or go prone to increase your accuracy. If you decide to Run and Gun using the lock-on, then better bring extra ammo. This all seems very complicated at first, but after 20-30 minutes of playing I was able to make the adjustment - I have to say, to my surprise, this control setup actually works and works well! FTB (Fireteam Bravo) takes place in conjunction with the Socom 3 missions and stories. A pair of seals (Sandman and Lonestar) take side missions to help Specter's squad accomplish their mission objectives. As you complete the campaign mode, you get opportunities to complete cross-talk objectives that you can later synchronize with Socom 3 on your PS2 to unlock weapons, accessories and help with mission objectives! Yes, this works in the reverse as well. Complete some cross-talk objectives on PS2 version and sync with your PSP. Once the game starts and the main menu comes up, the resemblance of the Socom 3 menus will bring a nice warm familiar feeling to those die hard Socom fans. Aside from personalizing the control setup, you fill find many of the same options you have on the console version. But you will notice something new; Instant Action. As you complete area missions, you unlock maps for Instant Action. A nice way for those who are on the go and have just a few minute to kill. Not enough time to play a full mission? That's fine, start Instant Action and choose from multiple game types, Breach, Extract, Suppression style games. You and your sidekick Lonestart take on Terrorists in a quick 2 vs all battle. They also offer stealth type missions for those who like to stick to shadows for that added challenge. Getting tired of playing mind-numbing dimwits offline? How about taking FTB online for 4v4 or 8v8 action? When you get to the log in screen, if you already have a Socom 3 account, you can use this same account to log on. When you get online, notice your friends list; it is the same list you have for Socom 3! Unfortunately, you can even communicate with them! While in a game room, you can send a message to your friends using the chat features! You get pretty much all the same community options on the PSP version as you do with the Socom 3 community, friends list, clans, ladder system and message boards. Though clans do not interchange between Socom 3 and FTB like Friends lists do. The online map setup is just like Socom 3, select the map, then the game type you want. There are 5 different types to choose from: - Suppression: SEALs vs Terrorists - Team Deathmatch, eliminate all opponents - Free For All (FFA): Terrorists vs Terrorists - Deathmatch, everyone for themselves. - Extraction: SEALs vs Terrorists - SEALs eliminate all Terrorists or extract 2 of 3 VIPs to win. Terrorists eliminate all SEALs to win. - Demolition: SEALs vs Terrorists - Find bomb and destroy enemy base or eliminate all opponents. - Captive: SEALs vs Terrorists - Like Suppression, eliminate all opponents. But you can revive fallen teammates. Winner is team with most mean left standing when time expires or completely incapacitate other team. Don't like the idea of playing online and not being able to talk to your teammates? Then drop $20 on this PSP Headset! YES, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo supports the headset for online communication!

First off, in case you are wondering, I'm not under 13. I'm actually 15. I just didn't feel like signing into Amazon. To the review, I think this is a truly dominating PSP game. I'm going to give you the pros and cons of this game.
Pros: 1. The graphics. For a PSP game, they are a force to be reckoned with 2. Good missions 3. Nice weapons 4. Instant action. For this you can do 5 objectives in a mission course, Hostage Extract (rescue a hostage(s)), Stealth Extract (rescue a hostage(s) while staying covert), Sweep & Clear (you eliminate all enemies in specific areas), Sabotage (you sabotage a radio(s)), and Stealth Sabotage (disable a radio(s) while remaining covert). 5. The locations for missions 6. Almost everything else. Cons: Just two minor cons. 1. The person who gives you intel and compliments you on the stuff gets annoying. 2. If LONESTAR dies, the mission is compromised. I don't like that much. Final note: I'm going to rent SOCOM 3 now. If it is better than this game, it will be amazing!

WOW! This is the best game I have played for PSP so far. The graphics, although not PS2 quality, are good and the controls are easy to use once you get used to them. The singleplayer is fun, but too easy (I beat it in 4 1/2 hours)but still fun and after you beat the game you can use the great instant action feature or go online. You don't need a headset (In other words, you don't technically need the headset, as well as it doesn't really make the game any better) to go online, either. Overall this is the best game for PSP so far.

To me it was worth the 40 bucks. Its the best online shooter for the psp, no doubt. I played some of the missions but they were not as fun as playing online. If you have online, you should go buy this game.If you dont have online maybe you should keep your 40 dollars on something eles.

I just got the game today and I am extremely pleased!!! I recommend this to everyone who loves fps's.
Graphics: 9/10 it has great graphics without any lag during high action play. the minor problem is that every thing is quite dull and dark. The enviornments are very detailed and looks great. Controls: 10/10 The controls were great and were very easy to get used to. This is my first SOCOM game and I literally learned the controls in 2 minutes. I'm not a big gamer and am not too good at games; yet they were very easy. The freelook mode (the aiming mode basically) is a little too sensitive. It doesn't move very smoothly side to side and up and down when you are sniping. It still doesn't change the fact that its a great game. Gameplay: 10/10 The online games are very fun and the game is full of action and is an edge on your seat game. You can further the action during online play with the psp headset. It is just 20 dollars, The single player campaign mode is just as exciting. Its not just all shooting. You have to disable generators, take out radios, obtain terrorist maps and reports too. You can also choose out several commands for Lonestar to do. Ex: breach door, cover target, kill target, disable generator, etc. You can have a wide assortment of guns and can pick up dead enemies too. For beginners, there is a tutorial and hints during missions to guide them along. Loading times: 9/10 It takes about 10 seconds to load a mission and the menus. This isn't too long because you don't have to wait anymore. Sound: 10/10 The sound is very realistic. Civilians will talk and enemies shout in their native language. The music is like a rock genre and is pretty good. If you get a headset for online play, the sound is very clear even though you may be playing with people across the U.S. In a nutshell, it's wonderful. Overall: 10/10 A very good and fun game. Recommended for everyone.

Ok Im going to explain the pros the cons and the overall ratings of the game so read carefully.
Sound: The sound is pretty good but its even beter with headphones on and the volume turned all the way up. 7/10 Graphics: Good job on graphics here for such a small handheld. 7/10 Singleplayer: If your looking for a good single player then this game is not for you. Like someone else stated in the reviews its not a creative story mode at all. Its very short as well. 5/10 Controls: The controls are a bit weird at first but you get use to them fast. They did a good job on getting past the problem of no analog stick on the right.7/10 Mutliplayer: The best for last, the thing that makes it stick out from all other games. You can tell they went all out in online multiplayer and Ill explain how. You can create and manage a clan and choose from several of different game types. You can also buy a headset to hook up and talk in the game. Its very fun. The only problem is I dislike a lot of the levels design. I mean there pretty creative and all but when there are large open spaces and you get shot from behind theres no chance to turn around and shoot back you will be dead before you know it. I have found that I like one level to my likings and im sure alot of people feel the same thing. Theres always tons of people on so finding games is never a problem. You can do pretty much any multiplayer thing like clans, friends list as you can on xbox live and stuff. 9/10 Overall: 8/10 Great game but only buy if you have multiplayer access.

Excellent game ,good graphics very credible storyline, I really enjoyed being able to alternate between the first person to third person mode. I am new to the socom franchise so the bigest novelty was playing with the computer partner that is with you in every misssion. Good commands, easy to cycle through weapons. The only thing weak point is that the missions are sometimes long and that you cannot save along the way, or midway through a mission. Overall I really liked it so far only looses to syphon filter.
