5.0 out of 5 stars I Scream for Ice Cream!!!!, December 16, 2010
This review is from: Soda Fountain Classics (Hardcover)
This book will have you drooling for everything in it, I promise. The pictures are fantastic and very classy. This is a hardback book that showcase 30 nostalgic soda fountain recipes for various ice cream treats. The recipes include home made sauces like warm raisin sauce, strawberry sauce, and butterscotch sauce. There are recipes for homemade ice cream including mint chip, coffee, peppermint, rocky road and more. Refreshing drink recipes like milkshakes, malts, black cow, brown cow, frappe, iced coffee, floats. And of course what soda fountain would be complete without banana splits, parfaits, sundaes, the French Romanov parfait, a knickerbocker and more. Also has sherbets and ice milks, homemade ice cream sandwiches, cones, waffles, wafers and more.
I found the recipes to be accurate and delicious, not complicated at all, and each one is accompanied by photos of the actual treat you are making.
Has a nice introduction with photos from vintage soda fountains, a great example of Americana.
