I first ordered a size 10 of this boot (in an ideal world I would have ordered a 10.5, but for some strange reason that is the size no shoe company wants to make). I read some of the reviews and most of them said these boots fit true to size. However the 10 was too small, so I ordered an 11. There was no difference between the two! The 11 was just as small. Perplexed and disappointed.

I really liked the look of these boots, and I was so happy they didn't have a zipper, anywhere. (What's with all the combat boots having zippers!) Because of all the positive reviews I took a chance. I'm really happy I did. It's true they must run a bit small. I am (almost) a perfect 61/2, but going off the other reviews I ordered a 7, and they fit perfect. The material is soft, and the boot is comfortable. I use minimal inserts on all my boots because my feet get tired easily. The insert fits fine with plenty of room. Usually all shoes take a few weeks to break in, but on my first wear I forgot I was wearing them, which is a real testament to their comfort. The quality seems pretty good, but only time will tell. All in all a very good buy for the price. Oh, and they do fold down for a fashionable look, and because of that the lacing is a bit strange. I probably won't use that feature though, as I'm more into the traditional look of a combat boot.

Lace loop holes were very out of alignment leavs my laces very crooked. Back they go. Plus I usually where a 10- 10.5. I got an 11. Feels like an 8.

This boot is marked as an 8.5 but is in reality probably a 6.5. I took a photo of one next to my old size 8.5 boots of a similar style for comparison. The difference in sizes is very apparent. I can only speculate as to how this occurred - perhaps boots for another region were mislabeled with US sizes. I would suggest that the seller or manufacturer post a size chart so that people who wish to order these boots can find the appropriate size. I cannot recommend that anyone purchase this item until the size issues are corrected. I immediately returned my item and will just purchase another pair or Rocky 8.5s.

I wear a size 7 and ordered these in 7-1/2. They are really narrow and too small, even for little feet like mine. Standard sizes have been around for years, so really how does a company screw this up? I would ask for a replacement, but Amazon only offered me the refund option, which is just as well because as of now, size 8 costs $22 and the 7-1/2 cost $32. Other than the size issue, the shoes look cool, but I can't believe these retail for $75. These are $25 shoes at best. Too bad, I liked the idea of the plaid fold over. I'm a veteran, so I might just go to the military base and get a pair like I used to wear when I was serving or find something else.

I'm returning and ordering an 8.5 (my actual size). I had ordered a 9 based on all of the recommendations to order up a half size. Guess my feet were smaller than I thought. I love the snaps, soft leather, and overall comfort of these shoes. I can't wait for the right size order to show up. I'm a little worried that I might wear them out quick (they're a bit thin and very flexible), but for $49 I think they're a good deal.

    UPDATE:

I've now owned my correctly sized pair for a year and they've held up great! I've even worn them on 3+ mile walks at the state park (occasionally) with only minor scuffs as a result. Winter weather seems to wear on them the most, but they don't let the water in. A damp chill does permeate if you wear them in the cold/snow since they are thinly made - just don't expect to use these as your winter go-to boots. I get asked all the time where I got these, they're rather popular.

I bought these shoes for cosplay purposes, so I didn't want to invest too heavily. The price was right, and the quality reflects that. The fabric on the inside is SUPER ITCHY. So as long as you're looking for an affordable, convertible boot, and don't mind ALWAYS wearing socks with it, these are a good option.
