For precise measurements, the Jardin uses Quattrotonic measuring technology, which employs four sensors to get readings with an accuracy of .2 pounds (or 100 grams). This digital scale can be configured to measure in either pounds or kilograms via a switch below the handle and can handle a maximum of 330 pounds or 150 kilograms. The Jardin’s electronics are constructed with particularly high moisture resistance, so it is perfectly safe to leave in a humid bathroom. We have owned this scale for 3 years. It is beautiful and when it worked it worked perfectly and was extremely accurate. But now it does not work. You can step on it and the numbers appear and then disappear. Sometimes they don't appear at all. Tapping, rocking, etc. does not help. Changing the batteries does not help. 3 years for a scale that cost over $100 does not cut it. Update: called Soehnle and they are willing to replace the scale however it is no longer produced and I must pick a different scale. So thumbs up for service.

This is a beautiful and functional scale. It reads to a tenth of a pound. I love it, and it looks beautiful in the bath.
