I bought this scale mainly for baking as many non-US recipes are by weight rather than cups/spoons. It also takes the guesswork out of keeping track of calorie intake. I can't remember how many times I used to look at a nutrition label and wonder: exactly how much is 4 oz. of chicken?

Things that I like about the Soehnle Attache scale:

- Simple and sensible design. The main control is basically the entire front portion of the scale. No buttons - I can operate the scale with the back of my hand when my fingers are covered with batter, and clean-up is a breeze if I make a mess.

- Intuitive to use. Press the control tab once to turn it on, once more to tara (zero out the container), and a third time to turn it off.

- Compact. It easily stores in any kitchen drawer.

- Accurate. The .05-1 ounce increment is more than adequete for most recipes.

All in all, the Soehnle Attache scale is a great tool to have in the kitchen.

I bought this scale 7 or 8 years ago to weigh/measure my food. I'm diabetic, and the scale is great for getting accurate portions for counting carbs. The scale is small but has handled every job I've needed it for. It takes a battery that you can buy anywhere, and it lasts for a long time. I use my scale every day and it's never had a problem. It easily wipes clean if you spill food on it, it small & easy to store and it's very accurate. This scale can measure in both ounces/pounds and grams. I mainly use the gram setting, but if you want to switch to ounces you just flip the switch on the bottom of the scale.

Really pleased w/ this purchase:

+ Compact size so I can actually stick it in a kitchen drawer.

+ Does finer increment than other cheaper brands.

+ Does both grams and oz which is important for bakers.

+ Precise. I used to have a Thinner that the same item reads different weights almost every time.

This scale has no frills, but it does everything that it advertises. The one button operation takes a little getting used to, especially in using it to turn the scale off. Otherwise, it's great.
