I recently bought this scale, and so far I am mostly happy with it, and think it represents a good value. It is smaller than I anticipated, but I haven't had any trouble putting my largest mixing bowls on it, and the small size makes it easy to store.

I thought the 2000 g capacity would be ample for my purposes (mostly measuring flour for baking), but I failed to account for the weight of my large glass mixing bowl, which is 800 g. If I want to measure more than 1200 g of flour, I'll have to use a lighter bowl (which I don't like as much).

My main beef is that the scale automatically turns off after too short an interval. I was recently using the scale to portion my dough into 12 parts for bagels, and the scale often turned off in the time it took me to shape a handful of dough into a ball. Similarly, I recently put the bowl on the scale, tared it, and took a moment to gather my flour and a scoop, and the scale had turned off by the time I started scooping the flour--perhaps just a minute or so. A timeout of 5 minutes would be much more reasonable.

A minor gripe is that, when the scale is set to ounces, weights in excess of a pound are shown as pounds and ounces ("1 lb 2.5 oz") instead of just ounces ("18.5 oz"). My books tend to use just ounces, not pounds, so I wish the scale could be set to do the same.

I absolutely love this scale. The small size makes it easy to store in a drawer or any other small space. The zero feature is really useful. I can keep adding things to the bowl without having to empty the bowl in between. I've been through several scales and this is by far the best one I have ever owned. I highly recommend it.

I ordered this scale to upgrade from one of the awful things you buy in the discount stores. I needed a scale to divide portions and cook for two people. This scale is small and easy to use. I love being able zero the scale to weigh items on a plate or in a bag which keeps the scale clean. Not that cleaning is a problem. It cleans up in a snap. It's small makes storage easy. I highly recommend this item!

I have a Soehnle scale at home that weighs in grams & ounces. I've had it for 7-8 years and use it constantly, and it's great. I use an insulin pump, so I need to know how much I'm eating to calculate carbs correctly. My mother doesn't have a food scale and it's tough when I visit her, so I decided to get this one for her.

The scale is very small and lightweight. The scale I received ("Myra" model) weights in grams ONLY and takes a button type battery. The instructions say that it will turn off automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity, but it turns off much faster than that. You also can't turn it off manually if you want to. It does do the job fine - weighs in grams accurately. You'll just have to make sure you use a small bowl or plate, otherwise you won't even be able to see the display.

If I was buying this as a replacement for my scale at home to use every day I would return it. Since I'm only going to be using it occasionally, I think it will be fine. It does seem a little pricey for such a small, basic model but Soehnle scales are supposed to be great, and I know the one I have at home is.

I purchased this scale so I could accurately weigh food for my diet. It was much smaller than I expected (7" x 5" X 1.75"H), but it's perfect. It doesn't take up much room and I could easily take it with me, if I were so inclined. The design is clean and simple. This scale is very easy to keep clean because the are no crevices. My only gripe is that the button to switch from grams to ounces in on the bottom of the unit. When weighing packaged foods, some companies work in grams only. It's kind of a pain to keep picking up the scale to change the unit of measure. I also added rubber "feet" to the perimeter of the underside. When I push the tare/on button that is on top of the unit, the scale would catepolt up because there was not adequate support underneath. A minor flaw.

I have been through many scales, as I weigh all my food every single day. The things I like most about this scale are that it is so small and compact for when I need to take it places, but it is large enough to set a dinner plate on. The tare feature is great too. Can't recommend it enough!

This is a compact, sleek scale that takes little room on the counter. I particularly like the ability to switch from grams to ounces with the flick of a switch as well as the ability to reset the weight and add a new ingredient to get the single weight per ingredient. The scale works well. I have no complaints and I would recommend this to anyone who is intersted in counting the weight of their food.

I bought this scale a little while ago, and overall I'm very happy with its performance. I have access to a high-tech lab scale, and a few times I've been able to compare the readings of the two - this little guy is quite reliable.

However, some of the information listed here isn't correct!

For starters, this scale doesn't use a CR 2430 battery as reported. Rather, it uses four 1.5V AA batteries, which are included. Second, you can set the display for either grams OR pounds/ounces - there's a little switch on the bottom of the instrument. And last, the scale's precision is 2 grams in the metric system and 0.1 ounces in the English. I wish this information was revealed to me prior to purchasing the scale, because although 2 grams is "good enough" for me, I would have preferred a more accurate scale with 1 gram or even 0.1 gram gradations.

This scale is great! And it does measure in oz and grams for those reviewers that said it doesn't. There is a small button on the bottom of the scale that switches between units. It's also nice because it will convert the thing that you already weighed from oz to grams (or vv). I love it, it's very lightweight and it fits easily into a small kitchen drawer (or a purse).

Small and easy to use. The one I got use regular battery instead of button battery some review mentioned. If you hold the button for two seconds, you can turn off the scale manually. Some reviewer complained that they can't find on/off switch.
