Product Description

<DIV>A young boy discovers that lounging on his favorite sofa playing videogames around the clock is not all it's cracked up to be. His lack of attention to life's basics such as bathing, good food, fresh air, sunlight, and old fashioned exercise wreaks havoc on his young body, and before long our little lad finds himself a prisoner of his own designing, as well as the fascination of many an onlooker as he becomes literally joined at the hip with his increasingly disgusting environment. Sofa Boy is a humorous and beautifully illustrated lesson-learned about moderation - a lesson that can clearly speak to all ages, and goes down easily with a warm and hearty chuckle.</DIV>

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for kids who love video games, February 26, 2009
I got this book for my two boys who love video games. Both boys fought over who was going to read it first! Both boys shared the book with their classes when it was their turn to read to the class. I never had a book that my boys fought over nor were they so interested in. The illustrations are colorful, humorous and will catch the attention of any video/computer game lover. The story itself has great voice with the rhymes and bigger vocabulary. Parents now have an excellent resource to use when their children need a gentle reminder to put down the video games and go outside to play without being sounding preachy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this very funny book., February 24, 2009
My son and I really enjoyed this book. Great illustrations!! Very funny. My son has recently gotten into video games (age 7) so this book was a fun way to "back me up" when I tell him he is playing too much and it is time to do something else. Short book that gets a point across in a fun way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unique children's book with quirky rhymes and awesome illustration, February 23, 2009
I got this book for my nephew who loves video games (although he hasn't reached "sofa boy" status yet, thank God!) I thought he would get a kick out of the story and the pictures and he totally did.

First of all, the rhymes are clever and will keep children's interest. They're pretty quirky and get the point across. Most importantly, this is not a preachy book. It teaches about moderation but with fun rhymes. Secondly, the illustration is amazing. The pictures have a 1950's feel about them and yet, there's a Tim Burton element in there as well.

All in all, this is a very unique book with a very original story. I think kids will definitely get a kick out of it.
