'It's about the fact that a photographer can turn a cheap ugly sofa into an object of desire,' affirms Rankin. Retro furniture shops the world over will have much to thank him for. Marking the moment when the couch stopped being synonymous with the potato and made a connection with a different type of unpeeled edible tuber, Sofasosexy is a tease and a turn-on, and something enticing to place on your coffee table, before Rankin turns it semi-pornographic.

not sleek but genuine lovable sexy,

The models are not sleek fashion models on a modern couch. They are not sexy in the way a sports car is considered but more like the comfortable, worn, brown vinyl sofa that pops up throughout the book.The predominant feel is of skin and the beautiful hairs and colors that are noticed when in a sensual, engaged state. The photos may move anywhere on the body but never feel like the bare naked exposure of pornography. I found this book refreshing. Artful but not in the tired, traditional "ART" black and white erotic photography way. The best sexy images I've seen in a while. The only criticism is that, for an unusual book, the models were of the body type and age of most models in fashion magazines. The women are no doubt beautiful but the same beauty could be found in models of other ages and shapes - maybe in a sequel to Sofasexy.

A sexy book filled with pictures of natural beauty and honesty. There is no book out there that celebrates the woman with such honesty and geniality. The girls are beautiful and natural, not to mention happy with themselves. Plus, wonderful zealous use of the ringflash :)

some one some where is being different, whether it is Rankin or the publisher its nice to think that there are still people willing to be creative with books. just have fun with it
