Wish I had found out about these sooner!!!,

What a great product and I wish I had known about them sooner, I could have saved a lot of my furniture!
I found that the whole process was extremely easy.. however I did not do all nails in one sitting.. first I trimmed some of the cats nails and did this in a couple of days.. so as not to traumatize her.. then I would apply a couple of tips on - by myself in - and did that also in couple of days.. works like a charm.. and the cat does not seem to mind them. It was especially cute to see the cat jump on her favorite scratching chair and try and scratch - only to realize that she was not shredding the furniture.. Well worth it all!! If you have never trimmed your cats nails.. you might want to be careful and like the instructions say.. if you have never done it - you might want to start off by spending some time rubbing the cats paws to prep her for her PETacure (not manicure).

I was doubtful this would work. It has prevented furniture clawing although the urge is still there and she scratches, no damage is done. I have a young child and I wanted to be able to spot any softpaw claw that came off and to tell with a glance if the cat needed a new one. My son picked the color to go with the cats collar. I applied them to both front and back (to prevent punctures when leaping from leather furniture). I found a recommendation to feed the cat immediately after application in order for the glue to dry fully and did this. It worked very well. The cat groomed for a day trying to get them off but they stayed. She now ignores them. I AM using this product again.

We have being using this item for a year and this is certanly the best solution for our cat. He seems to be absolutelly comfortable with those caps on, even if he doesn't like the procedure of applying very much, he forgets about it right away. He still can "scratch" furniture but there is no harm anymore. I would suggest to every cat owner to use Soft Claws instead of declawing.

I love the nail caps! It does take a while to get them on the cats for the first time, but practice makes it quick and easy. I usually pet and play with my cat for about 5 minutes after to distract them while the glue dries. When you need to trim their claws and put new ones on, you can cut right through the plastic tips and peel them off. I can find the clear ones in the stores, but the colored ones let you know immediately when one comes off.

We had our indoor-only cat fully declawed as a kitten. After ten happy years together, he suddenly ran out the door and never came back. I was unable to find him, and was heartbroken to think of our beloved cat unable to hunt and slowly starving to death. I vowed that I'd never again have a cat declawed. SoftClaws are a much better alternative. They prevent damage to the furniture and are well tolerated by our current cat. He licks them when newly applied, then ignores them. SoftPaws are such a blessing, and I can't say enough good things about them!

I think declawing in inhumane. That did not keep me from being dissatisfied when my cats scratched up my furniture. I've been using these covers for about 4 months now and think they are great. My cats are very cooperative when I put them on and don't notice them after they've been on for 10 minutes. My cats and I are very happy. I recommend these for all cat owners. Order these and you and your cat will soon be at peace with eachother.

I've had these on my two cats for about three weeks. They were easy to put on with one other person helping me. Neither cat minded a bit despite one of the cats being very shy. I've seen no sign of them chewing at them. I was greatly relieved because I was afraid to have them declawed at 9 and 10 yrs old BUT they were decimating leather furniture. One problem came up: one cat has gotten stuck to a blanket and then to a stuffed animal when kneading. I don't know if this is a fit (size?) problem or from growing out or if perhaps I used too much glue for it to come off. It's quite disconcerting.

I'm a veterinary nurse at a feline only practice and I've applied Soft Paws to many cats including 1 of my own. At first I was very doubtful about the real practicality of Soft Paws but they have proven themselves very useful. Most cats don't have a problem wearing them and will become habituated to them in time. I've only encountered 1 cat that chewed them all off within a matter of hours. It is a 2 person job applying the nail caps-1 person to hold the cat and 1 person to work with the nail cap and the glue. The only real problem I have with the product is the glue tubes that come with the package are usually dried up. I have better luck just buying a tube of Super Glue and using that. I really like the colored Soft Paws because they make it easy to see if your cat has "thrown" a nail cap. Usually I will wait until my cat has thrown most of his Soft Paws before I replace them. They have certainly saved my sofa.

This product is great! For my 12-pound cat, I use them on his rear claws so that when he jumps off furniture (like my leather sofa), his claws don't dig in. BUT be warned that each cat is different. With my cat, the soft claws on his FRONT paws seemed to drive him nuts (he chewed on them incessantly), but with the rear claws he chewed a bit the first 2 days then got used to them. I suppose it's the difference between wearing socks or mittens for them (with socks affecting dexterity a lot less). All I do is keep his front paws nicely clipped, and rear claws covered with Soft Claws, and together with a scratching post I have no problems with furniture at all. You will waste a few in the beginning as they'll fall off when the nail is clipped too short, or when too little glue is in the nail. But overall so worth it.Update: almost two years later, we are no longer using these. They are still a good idea but I got kitty used to regular claw clipping (front and back) with the occasional filing session, and a good cat scratcher. It's easier than putting the claws on and he seems to like it better too, but the product is still a good idea.

It works pretty good for the most part. My cat constantly tries to get them off him. Would suggest stronger glue.
