5.0 out of 5 stars one of my all time favorites!
I found this artist quite by accident...just happened to be in the right place at the right time (for once in my life) nearly 2 1/2 years ago one Friday night at the club SQUEEZEBOX in NYC. Onstage appeared this beautiful wraithlike androgyne, guitar in hand, and I was treated to some of the best synthetic gothic pop tunes I'd ever heard. I'd never walked in cold on...

Every Glampire fan should have this. If you're not familliar with Glampire, look for nother cd to get hooked on. This is for those who are in the know.

I'd never walked in cold on a band I'd never heard before and been SO impressed! I immediately ran downstairs to the coatcheck counter where they were selling this disc (it was the CD release party of all nights) and have played it constantly since, its always "in rotation" in my CD player & the songs stick like glue in my head.

Imagine perhaps a meld of the Cure, NIN, David Bowie and Prince and some of the catchiest songs while still emotionally enveloping. I was in a bad state of depression that summer & listening to this disc helped pull me thru. It hit me on an emotional level like nothing else had since "Pretty Hate Machine". I can't recommend it highly enough! Also check out his others - "Pretty Scary", "The Heraldic Universe" and the forthcoming "Soft White Ghetto".

4.0 out of 5 stars A very strange image, November 28, 2000

I had never heard of Glampire until my friend gave me this sampler cd. We had both worked for hot topic and for some reason they had sent her this sampler cd. Anyway, this took a little for me to listen to. I never thought that a guy could have such a feminine voice. At first it stuck me as odd but then it was quite wonderful.

"People Like You" is a great track. The lyrics and beat is very origional and yet quite familiar. I'm a big fan of Nine Inch Nails and The Cure. Glampire combined both of these sounds to make something that couldn't be done by anyone else. Its' a great cd and its' about time for something new.

Horrible! I first caught ear of Glampire through his rather aggressive marketing in various underground subculture oreinted zines such as 'OUTBURN', 'GOTHIC BEAUTEY', and 'NEWGRAVE'. I love glamrock as well as gothic rock...and I heard a decent Glampire song "Kill All Those feelings" on the Unquiet Grave Compilation 3 by Cleopatra records...I decided to give in and buy a full length album by this Glam-Q-Cumbur....to my anticipated dissapointment, my doubts were all confirmned. For the record, yes, "Glamflake" can sing just fine....but this music and overall production just sucks a**...and not pretty glamrock vampyric goth a**...more like jogger sporting-mustache-retired cop a**!! Major Suckage going on here people! Don't bother with 'Soft white ghetto'....BTW, doesn't that (Soft White Ghetto) sound like a great name for a toilet paper brand for rappers? If you like glamrock/Spacepop/glitter metal...Stay with David Bowie, Bryan Eno, Placebo, Psychotica, Roxy Music, The Darkness, Tubeway Army, or Marilyn Manson's Mechanicl Animals album. Glampire will only rob your wallet and test your patience. Truly, ...he really, really, totally, sucks in a major, major, Un-MajorTom way!!!!! Ok, I've got some ecstacy and blue faethers to get back to. Tata. >:)

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCEPTIONAL ARTIST, June 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Beginning of Terror (Audio CD)
Beginning of Terror Rocks! I have listened to this artist for years. Glampire has a history of different sounds of music. His talent goes beyond this CD. He is a gifted guitar player. One needs to really listen to past CD's to appreciate the quality of his music and the different styles he has had. He gives a powerful message to be yourself and to be true to yourself. I have experienced his web site. . . and found there is more than meets the eye to this exceptional musician.

1.0 out of 5 stars LA Listener wants money back, July 20, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Beginning of Terror (Audio CD)
Glampire's 'Beggining of Terror' was the worst 14 dollars I ever spent. It lacked originality, creativity and to be honest, talent. If I want to listen to the Cure, or NIN, I will buy the original, not some cheezy knock-off. Do not buy.
