5.0 out of 5 stars Our absolute Favorite Cloth Diaper, after diapering 8 years straight! LOVE these!
You can't go wrong with softbums! These are so adjustable, fitting the tiniest newborn to the hugest toddler! They fit my 35lb 3 year old, yet I've seen pictures on 5lb babies and they are super trim.
We love these!
Ok I seriously love these! I'm very hesitant to post this because I'm worried my customs will take forever if mamas order more but I want to rave...

2.0 out of 5 stars Lots of leaks!
I bought one of the one size softbums diapers with the hemp snap-in insert and an adjustable no snap one size about 6 months ago. I have a 3 year old (who only wears diapers at night) and a 9 month old. I so wanted to love these diapers. I liked the natural fabric against the baby's skin and the fact that they were so trim. The lady who makes them was so sweet as well...

Ok I seriously love these! I'm very hesitant to post this because I'm worried my customs will take forever if mamas order more but I want to rave for Sarah and Softbums, they are soooo awesome!
I bought 3 AI2 shells and 9 bamboo with bamboo velour topped snap in soakers. LOVE them!
They arrive soooo tiny, they would fit a 4lber easy! But they fit my 24lb 13 month old ds awesome awesome. He has such chubby thighs, I loved the design of bum genius, especially the organic AIO's but these fit him a million times better! NO RED MARKS! I absolutely love the little toggle elastic adjustments, they are so easy.
I adjusted them blind, put them on ds and they were a perfect fit! I'm really impressed.
The design is super super trim (narrow in the crotch) and has such an adjustable rise and thighs. Love that. They fit like sposies, and under clothing they add NO bulk.
I love the long soaker that folds and adds absorbency just where you need it without extra bulk. It's perfect for our super soaker front pee'in boy!
I'm in love!
Oh, we got snaps.
I love our softbums and have 3 more shells and 9 more soakers on order! I so would have loved these for the small stages too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome - absolutely my favorite!!, April 17, 2009
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
I have tried a wide variety of cloth diapers in my quest to find the "perfect" one, and since getting these they are the ONLY diaper I want to use. With a younger toddler still in diapers and another one due very soon, I decided to try these diapers in the hopes that I could find something that would work on both babies which over time will save me money as well as laundry. New in the package they come shrunk down to their smallest size, so it's clear that they would definitely fit most newborns (a lot of "one size" diapers only fit babies over 8-10 lb, these fit babies as small as 6 lb) and the fabric of the bamboo inserts (available directly at Softbums dot com is SOOO soft against my son's sensitive skin. TOTALLY worth the money. As one reviewer mentioned you get 1 diaper cover and 3 inserts, but unless baby has a blowout and the cover is soiled, all you have to do is snap in a clean insert when changing the baby - that's the beauty of them! They are so much less bulky than your standard all in one cloth diaper, and trips out with the diaper bag are a breeze because the inserts take up very little room. Also instead of the awkward snapping system that most one-size diapers this has a hidden toggle inside the liner that allows you to very easily get whatever fit you need. My son is very tall for his weight and we tend to have trouble finding stuff that fits both lengthwise as well as widthwise and these fit him great. Also, the customer service has been fantastic. I HIGHLY recommend these diapers!!

Updated:

My second son is now 2.5 weeks old and I STILL really love these diapers. My second son was 7.5 lb at birth and they fit him great, and they still fit my 30 lb toddler very well also. I love that when I go out with both of them I don't need to take 2 sets of diapers, just a couple of covers and inserts, and they adjust so easily that I can very quickly fit the diaper to whichever child I'm diapering! If you upgrade to get the bamboo inserts they do take a bit of time to dry, but that's just a testament to how absorbent they are. Best of all, these diapers are so easy that even other caregivers who aren't very comfortable with cloth diapers are able to figure them out with very little learning curve. These are still, hands down, my favorite diapers!

To dispell what another reviewer said, you absolutely CAN use these on a newborn - all you do is fold the insert under itself and it fits inside the cover no problem!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite Diaper, June 8, 2008
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
I have been using Softbums for 4 months now and they are by far my favorite diaper in my stash. Super trim, fabulous material, superb workwomanship, great fit and no leaks! By far the best diaper on the market and I hope someday all diapers are this clever. I love how this diaper fits my child from birth through potty training. Great investment!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great fit and absorbency., June 20, 2009
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
This fit my 8# newborn great. I didn't believe it would fit a larger child only to find it fit my 35# 3 year old (he's potty trained but became my test model!). I purchased some microfiber soakers and some bamboo velour. Although the microfiber ones are more affordable, what you save in cost you lose in laundry time. I found that hands down the bamboo soakers were better. They are very soft and amazingly absorbent. I never have a leak with them. I love not having to wash the covers every time either, they dry very quickly.
Great product for its price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best One-size Diaper on the Market!, June 9, 2010
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
I've cloth diapered 4 babies and tried everything there is out there, and these diapers blow them all away! The adjustment system for the legs is so amazing, you get a perfect fit everytime.
The one-size inserts and the fact that you can reuse the cover over and over saved us a TON of money. They also save a ton of space in my changing table, and diaper bag, and use less resources to wash.
No leaks, even at night time, but you really do have to prep these inserts as instructed 5-10 times total until they are fully absorbent.
Also, I have all of the different inserts ,and love them all for different reasons, but the Supers are amazing absorbency for the price and the Organic bamboo are so silky soft you will be addicted! Those 2 are my fav inserts for SoftBums.
Plus you can use these inserts in any other covers as a contour diaper. Just lay it in and go. Fits in Flip, Econobum, Coveralls, Gro Baby, Thirsties, Bummis, Wonderwrap, Marvels.
I like the SoftBums covers best though and my hubby thinks they are so cool it's the only diaper he'll use. They fit nice a trim between the legs.
This makes them the best one-size diaper for a newborn because they will actually get sooo small as to fit a teeny 6 lb newborn! Not another one-size diaper can do that!

5.0 out of 5 stars SoftBums are better than disposables!, September 30, 2010
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
We hesitantly decided to cloth diaper our new baby. We wanted to diaper her in the most ecologically friendly way, but heard so many concerns about keeping up with the laundry and getting them on right that we were ready to go to disposables if it didn't work out.

We bought the SoftBums starter package--8 shells and 24 inserts--and haven't looked back! They are easy to put on. They are easy to clean. We love all the colors. I love that we can add extra layers of absorbency for long car rides or overnight. On a weekly basis, our daughter's diapers are changed by us (mom and dad), grandmas and grandpas on both sides, our daycare lady and babysitters. All have been able to easily change our daughter's diapers with minimal instruction!

I love that we're done paying for diapers. At 4 months, we've already made our money back. We never supplement with disposables, like I thought we might. We love SoftBums!

I recommend this brand to everyone I know who is looking at cloth diapers!

4.0 out of 5 stars Super Trim!, September 9, 2009
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
I love these diapers. They are super trim and very absorbent. I love how the bamboo inserts are long, so you can fold them over wherever your baby needs the most protection. I also like the unique one-size sizing system where you tighten the leg elastic. It makes sizing really easy. The only reason I did not give these diapers 5 stars is because I wish they were more readily available in snaps and I wish the bamboo inserts were not as expensive.

5.0 out of 5 stars Softbums are fantastic!, June 7, 2008
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
I have been using the Softbums 2in1 for over a month now and I absolutely love them! They are much more comfortable for my baby than disposables, and they are so easy to use. The only time we have ever had leaks was due to user error when we just didn't get the diaper put on tight enough...which has also happened to us when we used disposables. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to use cloth diapers. The customer service is also great, so you will always get answers quickly to any questions you may have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hands down, the best cloth diaper, August 31, 2011
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
For everyone considering cloth diapering, as long as you find products like these, cloth diapering can be a breeze.

We have a variety of cloth diapers, including Fuzzibunz, BumGenious, a few I don't know the brand of, and of course SoftBums. I purchased all but 2 of these second-hand (I'm super-frugal), and the only diaper I was willing to pay new full-price for was Softbums.

A quick comparison:
Softbums works differently than other diapers. Rather than sizing snaps, the inside elastic makes these diapers much more free-sized than other one-size diapers. The insert-on-top style saves the shell from frequent washing. Though, to be fair, we use our other diapers this way too - there is no reason you HAVE to stuff a stuffable diaper. Inserts can always be placed on top. Still, Softbums has a snap to keep the insert from riding out in the back, which makes them a little more user-friendly and protects clothes from wicking.

The velcro on these diapers is stronger and longer-lasting than bum-genious velcro, and also softer and less stiff than either bum-genious or Fuzzibunz.

The strongest point in favor of softbums, though, is the trim fit. I do NOT only mean that it is thin like a paper diaper, but also trim between the legs. Softbums are about 2 cm slimmer in the crotch than any of the other brands I have tried. This may scare some parents, in that there is less room for absorbant stuff to go there, but it saves my son from red lines and pressure between the legs - something that has driven him to frantic cries when we've kept him in other brand diapers. The trim fit is a major blessing.

The inserts for Softbums are LONG. These can be folded and act as their own doublers on smaller babies. this is wonderful for keeping leaks at bay. We've also never had a blowout in Softbums.

The cons for these diapers, as everyone has said, focus mainly on price. These are the most expensive cloth diapers I have found. I consider them worth the price, but if you are aiming at cloth diapers to save money, these diapers will not save you money in the first year.

My suggestion: Buy 3 Softbums, with 9 liners. Use these mainly at night, and when you see red-lines on your child's legs from other cheaper diapers. You will get the major bennefits of Softbums, and only spend around $100 for these(less if you can find them used!) You can probably find second hand bumGenious and other diapers to fill out your diaper-drawer cheaply, and to be frank, they all work at least somewhat. Your child will appreciate comfort, but as my husband says, all they are all just eco-friendly-poop-catchers. Variety keeps costs down and diaper-rash at bay.

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Never Go Back To Disposables...Love These., August 26, 2011
By
This review is from: Softbums Organic One-Size Cloth Diaper Basics Pack (Baby Product)
I've been using these diapers for over a year now. My son is 13 months and he has used these from birth. I used the smaller doubler when he was brand new and they worked great for a few weeks and then we graduated to the full size liner. We use the organic cotton and bamboo liners and have no leaks except when it is my fault but those same problems with happen disposables. Even my husband has no problem with the Softbums and he was not a fan of me doing cloth. He thought is was going to be so much work but now I catch him talking to others about how great these diapers are and how easy it is to cloth diaper. The customer service is awesome also. I had a snap fall off and they had me send it in and fixed it right away. I can't say enough good things about these diapers. They are the only diaper we have used in the last 13 months.
