This review is from: Software Engineering: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
As a student currently studying in a private college in Dhoby Ghaut- Singapore, I find this book a great help for referencing, especially in my class subject Software Engineering. This book has helped me to understand all concepts and studying this book has helped me to excel in this subject. Because this book is easy to understand, many of my school mates choose to purchase this book instead of borrowing it from the library or even photostating the whole book! I do recommend this book for my juniors ." A great buy for a great price too "

A Great Book!!!,

This review is from: Software Engineering: A Beginner's Guide (Paperback)
As a software Engineer I'm working in systems development projects
almost all the time. After many years of using different approaches
to make analysis and design finally I found what I think is the
BEST TOOL!!! I can have to make systems flow better and ON TIME!!!
The book is a Great GUIDELINE to the steps to follow about
systems analysis, software analysis and software Design.
Going through all the steps is almost an easy job and you can
see how the system pieces fit each other in a coordinate way.
I think every systems analyst should have this book on the shelf!!!
Thank you, very much.

Seems to explain the topic well enough, but it is one of the driest books I have ever read. Also using Times Roman as the font gives it a rather archaic look. Also rather outdated, having been published in 1988 and not revised.
That said it covers the material in an understandable manner. It seems a good introduction to the topic. I thought it rather overpriced for an under 300 page paperback at $81+. |
