I have been using this text in a software project management course that I am teaching and have found it to be a great resource. The majority of my students have been from a technical background and are exploring the possibilities of moving to project management. This book has served as an excellent source of information or foundation for learning the SDLC process. Some discussion of UML and Use Case Analysis should be brought into the book in a newer revision.

This book covers all aspect of Project Mangement in a single book with practical experiences. I felt like experiencing most of the topics in my career and gave me new direction for managing current project. This book is a big help in my day to day life.

If you are a Technical or Software Project Manager, I recommend you this excellent book. I believe all the concepts in this book will be valid for many decades to come. I have purchased many project management books, but none of them cover the day to day practical issues presented in this book. The book contains important situations on how to handle what goes wrong. It really gives insight on how and what to do to manage a software project towards success.
