One of the best traditional bands to come out of Ireland (Belfast, specifically) in recent years, Craobh Rua especially delivers on this album. The instrumentals are burning renditions of mostly common (a few not so common) seisun chunes, played with fiery intensity. Peppered among the dance chunes are the expected songs but once again we are treated to very unique arrangements and very fine musicianship. All members are amazing instrumentalists but of particular notice is banjo/mandolin player Brian Connolly who just absolutely shines on every song, finding unique applications for the instrument in places one would not expect as well as the expected ripping through dance chunes. All in all, the best album from one of Ireland's best traditional bands.

From the lovely ballads to the "can't sit still" jigs and reels, this CD is a winner. 'The Tosa Waltz' is especially dear to this Tosa native and a song I would want at my wedding. I highly recommend this CD to any fan of traditional Irish music.

My friends and I saw this band at a Celtic festival during the summer. Hearing them live was great and the cd captures the performance wonderfully. "The Shore Neathe the Tide" was great in person and is just as good recorded. We loved them!

This group has some of the best music I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. I would recommend all of their releases.
