These were a lot better than I thought they would be. I had added them to my Christmas wishlist and my sister-in-law was my "secret santa" for Christmas 2008 (there are 15 people in my immediate family, so we all have amazon wish lists and draw names out of a hat, etc., anyway...)
The batteries last a long, long time. If the units have 7 hour/day of direct sunlight, expect them to stay on at least 8 hours. Here in Phoenix, they get 9 hours of direct sunlight/day even now, in Feb, and they stay on till 5 in the morning!! These are really good... again much better than I thought. Yes, they're made of plastic, not metal... but that should not be an issue for anyone. I'm very satisfied with these lights and I researched the other brands on Amazon before I added this to my wishlist. After my sister-in-law saw how good they looked (and how many there were) she bought two sets of her own. I also bought another set, so I now have 32 -- 6 in the front yard, and the remainder in the back. Very handy for when my dog goes out at night... every corner of the yard is now seen. You cannot beat this deal!!

great little lights for the price, they are solar and wont do much but glow in the yard but thats why your lookin.
