Looks wierd but feels just fine when playing. Sounds ok for practice with earphones. One of the tuners is buggered up enough to be very hard to turn but still allows tuning with some effort. Sound through an amp allows others to hear your playing but is not as good as one might hope for. For its purpose and at its price, I think it is a good deal.

I have mixed feelings about this instrument. But it comes down to this:

The more I play it, the more I like it. And friends who hear it are impressed with the sound quality.

One also must consider: is there a competitive product that does a good job at this price level? Not that I've seen.

The choice is basically this unit at a low cost, or far more expensive units (such as the Yamaha at around $600), or build your own; there aren't a lot of "silent nylon" guitars on the market. That factor figures in heavily to rating this guitar.

I'll cover the major things first, then get into details:

* The body is amazingly resonant. I don't know what kind of wood it's made of, but you can barely tap the front of the guitar below the bridge and feel it all the way up the neck. I would love to know what wood they used to achieve that.

* The sound through a quality amp is very good... but since it is totally electric the sound of the guitar will be no better than the amp. Cheap amp = cheap sound. Good amp = good sound. The guitar is capable of producing very good sound.

* The upper fin of the guitar is sharpish and tends to dig into the chest; it's most uncomfortable. I'm going to have to pad the back of it.

* I'm not impressed with the headphone jack... and since this is a "silent guitar" that's a big deal. On my unit the built-in headphone jack is far too "crisp" and powerful for most headphones to handle even at low volume. It comes out "tinny" and you hear every finger movement on the strings. The preamp actually needs a moderator circuit for the headphone jack (which is an option I plan to check in to).

Had been longing for a silent classical guitar for long, and when I saw this guitar on Amazon the first time, I decided to buy it. The delivery was quick and the guitar was in excellent condition.

I like it because it serves all my purposes: ie practicing at night without disturbing my family, low cost, and good quality. The sound is good as well, of cause not good as regular classical guitar.

One small defect: there are no fret markers. But I resolved it perfectly. I cut off some small round dots of duct tape by using a hole puncher (used to punch holes on belt), and stuck them on the near side of the fingerboard on to mark the frets.

I recommend this guitar to all the classical guitar players if you want to practice guitar without disturbing others.

This is a very inexpensive "silent" guitar, but it is not silent when using the ear pieces. The amplification adjustment does not work and it remains loud throughout the entire range. Since I travel, I was hoping to have a quiet guitar for my hotel room, but this isn't the one.
