This review is from: Sojourns in West Africa (Paperback)
Steve Keenan has written a wonderfully authentic account of Peace Corps experiences that span nearly a a lifetime. Steve's narrative demonstrates a continuing concern for the citizens of Liberia, the country in which he served in the early days of Peace Corps, and that continue to be a focus some 40 years later. Sojourns in West Africa describes, in colorful detail, three encounters with `the Mother Country': his initial experiences as a youthful adventurer and two subsequent journeys, under far more difficult circumstances, as a mature and dedicated benefactor of people he connected with some 40 years earlier.
