5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm
Great product, I have a Sony Ericson W580i and this unit works perfect with it. I just leave it in my car on the dash, then whenever im in the car just plug my phone in and charge. Great if your camping and don't have any way to charge your phone. Great in emergencies when the power is out, or unavailable. The actual piece that plugs into my phone is a little big, and i...

2.0 out of 5 stars piece of junk
If you are thinking of buying this "solar Charger" DON'T!!!! it is definately not worth the money and for what it is being sold at right now you could easily make one from scratch. I bought one and really loved the concept of having a little solar charger with you wherever you go. The item arrived within the specified time and the seller was easy to contact. However the...

Great product, I have a Sony Ericson W580i and this unit works perfect with it. I just leave it in my car on the dash, then whenever im in the car just plug my phone in and charge. Great if your camping and don't have any way to charge your phone. Great in emergencies when the power is out, or unavailable. The actual piece that plugs into my phone is a little big, and i have trouble unplugging it sometimes. All of the connections look cheap but they work, I don't know how long they will last but im really not worrying about it, especially since I only paid 20 bucks for it.

Update: Charger died after a few months. Would refuse to charge my sony ericson 580i. I decided to take it apart and see if I could fix the problem. Now it lays in pieces. I think im gunna use the solar panel to jimmy rig a car charger and make my own solar cell phone charger

However the Solar charger wouldn't charge anything, big or small(trying to charge electronics that are within the voltage/amp output for the charger). The only thing that works is the little green light that comes on when you have it in sunlight (admittingly kinda cool) and when you have to charge the solar charger in either a usb port or wall outlet ( Kinda defeats the purpouse of a "Solar" charger right?) All in all I wouldn't recommend this to anyone!!! (Maybe a few more exclamation points for to drive this review home) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not enough battery storage, September 15, 2009

I don't spend much time talking on my phone although it is ON all the time. Nevertheless my samsung uses energy faster than this charger can generate. When fully charged it can be useful in emergency situations - you can get enough power to last for a few hours. This is disappointing to me since I was hoping to move my cell phone 'off the grid'. I am going to run some tests to give more accurate timeframes and will update this review soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great charger fo EVO 4G, June 5, 2011
This review is from: Solar Panel Battery Charger Adapter for Mobile MP4 PDA 80018 (Electronics)
I use my EVO as hotspot when im on the go and need to keep the battery from going out to fast. This solar charger does the job nicely. Excellent product. I would recomend it to a friend.
Just use the USB attachment that comes with solar charger and plug the mini USB that comes with EVO and that is it. I keep this in my car all the time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not charge iphone 3G, June 1, 2010

Does not charge 3G iphone. Hooked voltage up to an oscilloscope for a while and the output voltage maxes out around 3 volts. The output voltage is UNREGULATED meaning that if your phone charges off of USB which has a standard output voltage of 5 volts (the voltage this device should output if they had splurged an extra $0.50 on a voltage booster chip), it's hit or miss whether you'll be able to charge it or not. In my case, the iphone (with a 3.7V battery) does not sense a voltage high enough to initiate charging. I hooked it up to a camera with a lower voltage battery which can also charge off of USB, and the camera was able to pick up a charge.
