4.0 out of 5 stars Great value for solar lights
Not sure why others have problems with these. We have six of them surrounding a central, far more expensive non-color-changing light, so, together, it looks like a candelabra when going at full force.

Some have complained that the stakes break easily. Haven't found this to be a problem, but I've planted them in muddy soil. When you have a bunch of them out...

Of six lights I bought one didn't work from the start. They don't stay on long after dark compared to other solar lights. Flimsy connector between the rods breaks much too easily, to the point I had to duct tape them. Then they were stolen, as another reviewer mentioned. 4.0 out of 5 stars Great value for solar lights, March 24, 2010
This review is from: Solar Crackle Glass Ball Lights, a Pack of 3 pcs in a set.
Not sure why others have problems with these. We have six of them surrounding a central, far more expensive non-color-changing light, so, together, it looks like a candelabra when going at full force.

Some have complained that the stakes break easily. Haven't found this to be a problem, but I've planted them in muddy soil. When you have a bunch of them out there, they're mesmerizing to watch. They have a general fixed pattern of red, green, blue, but sometimes you'll see flashes of orange, yellow or turquoise, and sometimes the pattern will be interrupted, or some will turn faster than others creating a variety of beautiful, mesmerizing displays over the course of a night. With a little Wyndham music on the stereo and a cup of Chai at your side, you've get the perfect earthy crunchy new age meditation experience at your disposal.

And they do last. We'll still see them in their last stages of light when we wake up around 5:30. If there are any negatives to these it's that I wish the stakes were a little higher and I wasn't aware that they come with batteries that ultimately will have to be replaced at some point. But who cares? I may just buy a bunch more of these things to replace any that break. They're wonderful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really nice and simple to use, August 9, 2010

I absolutely love these! And at this price, it beats other stores by far. I was given free shipping by this Amazon seller (I purchased two packages - one for me, one for my sister), AND they included a $20 gift card for a future purchase.

The lights are very nice - I didn't give them 5-stars only because I didn't want my review to be overly glowing (no pun intended). They were very easy to set up and worked within only an hour or two of minor sunlight. I was very surprised to see the ball itself is glass and heavier than I expected. Nice touch, as I expected thin plastic for the price of 3-for-$19.95. The crackled glass casts a pretty, textured light against the wall of my garden. I like also that I can turn them to off or automatic, thus conserving energy and the bulb for when I really want to view the lights. Its only been a week since their arrival and I've already received plenty of compliments on them. Shipping was right on time, too.

I would recommend these lights to anyone wanting a nice touch to a garden, without too much whimsy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool lights., December 4, 2009

Everybody likes these lights and $20 is a decent price (compared to others I've seen it's about average). They've been in our back yard & working for about 6 months. Someone else must've liked them too, two from the front yard were stolen (& we are in a VERY quiet/good neighborhood).

These solar lights are absolutely beautiful! They change from red, to green and blue. They add just the right amount of color and beauty to our backyard.

Flimsy connector between the rods breaks much too easily, to the point I had to duct tape them. Then they were stolen, as another reviewer mentioned. The quality version of this product seems to be the MoonRays version from reviews here, but I wouldn't risk the price half a dozen of their lights considering the risk of theft. If a few hours of lighting are acceptable, maybe more in the summer, and you're extremely careful setting them up and moving them, they may be worthwhile. Other reviewers noted a lack of battery access. This is true to the extent that there's no battery compartment cover to snap off. But it appeared that you could access the battery with a screwdriver.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheaply made, November 17, 2010

These are very cheap.
I bought these thinking they were the same as I already had, but they are very small and the poles you put in the ground break very easy
would spend the extra and buy the larger ones

1.0 out of 5 stars Worked for 3 days, October 27, 2011

These are a waste of money. I have had them for about 2 weeks. they were great the first three days. Then they started only lighting up for an hour or so. Now only 1 works. Also they are fragile. One stake broke while putting it into the ground. Dont waste your money!

I purchased these solar powered garden balls to add some color to my flower bed. They are quite nice and give off different colors during the course of the night. My neighbors have commented on on how nice they make the front yard look. They're not too big but not small either. It was a great buy and I am very happy with them.

I ordered these as a gift for out of state family, and was none too pleased to learn they were not colored, as pictured in the description, but are clear. I am unhappy with this transaction.
