SOLAR records reminds me the Vinil era. This CD collection is very good with a great track list. The only weakness is there are only short versions on the CD.

Outside of the usual suspects ("And the Beat Goes On," "Fantastic Voyage," etc.), this CD is worth picking up for the lesser known gems.

"Come Back Lover, Come Back" is a most EXCELLENT tune from the Sylvers. Leon had become an in house producer for Solar at this point in time and his siblings followed him over there in 1981. This gem was the first single off of the "Concept" LP and should have performed much better than it did. It's good to see it listed on this CD.

For the money (some vendors sell for under $10), the Solar Disco Box is an excellent bargain. Lots of key tracks and rarities. There are some major hits missing, especially from Shalamar, the label's biggest act, but this is a really fun listen that will take you back to those Jheri Curl days. Grab it before it goes out of print.
