This review is from: The New Solar Electric Home: The Photovoltaics How-To Handbook (Paperback)
This book was written in the early 80s by an environmental extremist. Much of the beginning of the book is crap. I would advise skipping the first 50 or 70 pages. After that there is some very good info on sizing a system for your home. Some of the appliance power usage data is out of date, but the concepts are there. I don't know if there is a more current edition or not; or even a similar book that is more current, but that would be worth looking for. This book does not get into component construction, but rather putting together a system. I purposely sought an older book thinking I might find some homebrew how to on inverters, chargers, and cells. It is not in this book, but the info in the book is good.
