This mailbox is attractive and sturdy; however, it is not rustproof (as I was assured when I purchased my original one at Home Depot). This is my second Solar #AR15W000 Large T2 White Steel Mailbox in three years because of rusting. Although the first one rusted quite a bit inside and to a lesser extent outside (the underside of the mailbox and ever so slightly on the crimped area surrounding the back of the mailbox proper, as well as the screws), I purchased another because of its stately appearance and solid construction. This time, however, I applied rustproofing and purchased stainless steel screws.

This is a very attractive and heavy duty mailbox. I had a bad experience with Home Depot - but this order was great. I am so glad to have a "new" mailbox. It is large and well built - I expecially liked it being put together except for the flag and it was very easy.

This mailbox came delivered by UPS in just its original cardboard box: No additional packing or outside box. Just like you would take it off the shelf at Home Depot. As a result, it was slightly damaged (dented). I decided not to return it because the damage was confined to an inconspicuous area. The mailbox is larger than a standard (T1) box, this being a T2. My mail carrier appreciates the box because we get lots of oversized mail which will fit into this box and keep him from having to get out of his jeep and bring it to my door. Because I was replacing a smaller mailbox, this box didn't fit properly on my old mailbox's post, so I wound up having to buy a $5 bracket for this mount properly. The box looks good, looks pretty durable, and I think it'll hold up for years to come.

Mailbox shopping was a little harder than I thought it would be but eventually I settled on this one and it's worked out well. It's large and solid. The price seemed a little high but maybe it's worth it. Mine came with white side rails instead of black and they made me send back the entire mailbox just to swap them out, which was annoying. I wish they could have just sent me the new rails and saved us both alot of work. They should also come with black screws but don't actually come with any mounting hardware at all.

This mail box looks great. The only issues I had was there was some packing/shipping marks on the side of the box but I can live with that. Also, the only negative is the door is a little loose and at times does not want to stay closed. I am very pleased overall. The look of this box is what makes it!

Recently purchased from Lowes and assembled with all parts (there is one washer for the flag). I immediately noticed how loose the flag movement was and became concerned. Sure enough, a few days later when mailing with the flag up, moderate wind kept blowing the flag down. I also note that a neighbor who purchased the same mailbox 2 years ago, did not have this problem. Considering this mailbox goes for $50, there is no excuse for such shody design "improvement". Also the instructions omitted what the plastic round tabs were for (to cover up the visible screw heads). DO NOT BUY. There are better ones availabe for less.

Easy to put together, and it looks nice. You can fit 8x10 size envelopes in this guy no problem, I get a lot of photos in the mail and I prefer they don't get bent. This solved the problem. We bought it with the matching post and a few weeks after installing it, a garbage truck hit it, the mailbox still looks great but the post took a beating. Would definitely recommend.

This mailbox is large but with as much as I have delivered to my house it is well worth it. The assembly was very easy but some of the parts really did not fit. These parts were minor to the assembly. I have learned alot form my mailbox post install which was not as simple. But for right now I have to say the mailbox was the least of my problems. The color is great and the red flag gives it a nice contrast.

It was very easy to assemble, came with a few extra parts, (2nd flag), a few extra screws and washers also. Nice color and large enough for big envelopes. We are very happy with the purchase.

The five stars is for the mailbox itself. It's just what I'd hoped for: large, very attractive, sturdy, and reasonably priced. We needed it ASAP, and liked it enough that we were willing to bang out the dents left by the insufficient packaging (which worked well enough, since most of the damage was on the fins that fit over the mounting post), rather that return/exchange it.
