These lids are great! All of them worked out of the box which tends to be unusual in my experience with small solar lights.Put them on mason jars and have them in various sunny places around the house and yard. They give off quite a lot of sparkley light. Make great night lights and light my deck steps nicely when I have people over for fire pit nights. I'm getting more because they make great gifts too!

I got one of these mason jars a week ago and noticed that after a full day in the sun, I was only getting about half an hour of light before it quit. Fortunately, there's an easy fix for this. The underside of the lid has a compartment, held in place by two Phillips head screws. Inside, is a cheap, low-capacity, 450mah AAA battery, which is held in place in a regular compartment, rather than soldered in. Just replace it with a higher capacity rechargeable AAA battery (I used a 1000mah) and the solar cell can store much more power in it and your light will last much longer.

The lights are nice, subtle little lights that come on at night to light my porch steps. I love them. At first I didn't think they worked because the rechargeable batteries in the lid had little plastic barriers so they wouldn't start working until I removed them. It took a while to figure that out, but after I did, they worked beautifully.

I like it. Charged up right away, and I liked to watch it turn on when ever I turned the kitchen light off. However, it took me a while to notice that the charge doesn't last for as long as I'd hoped, I haven't timed it yet, but a few good solid hours and then it starts to dim and die. I still love the concept though, and the effect it has on the jars.

I ordered 3 of these and they lit up right away. They looked good on my antique blue Mason jars but after the first week only one was still working and they have been in direct sun all day long. Great idea, not a great product.

I wasn't sure how these would work but have used them on my porch and taken them camping for a perfect night light. They have gotten rained on also and still work well.

Does not hold charge, very disappointing. Have them in direct sunlight, but just do not get any brighter. Would not recommend.
