5.0 out of 5 stars great lights for the price
These babies last all night through the colorado winter. Attractive and more light than I was expecting. Great deal at the price. I took all the batteries out and charged them in a smartcharger before putting them out. Stainless seems much better than the cheap plastic ones.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some and some
Though I was very pleased with the price and delivery time, the product itself proved to be less than I'd hoped. I guess it's another illustration of "you get what you pay for." The "stainless steel" is very satisfactory, the light quality and solar charging are top shelf. The plastic lens came as a great disappointment; though I bear responsibility for the breakage, I...

4.0 out of 5 stars Look Great, July 6, 2010

I received two sets (12 total) this Summer and have been using them several weeks now. They look great lit up at night. They are just what I expected for the price. Not sure they are heavy duty enough to keep out all winter so I will bring them in. The ones that get the most sun, stay lit all night long.

Though I was very pleased with the price and delivery time, the product itself proved to be less than I'd hoped. I guess it's another illustration of "you get what you pay for." The "stainless steel" is very satisfactory, the light quality and solar charging are top shelf. The plastic lens came as a great disappointment; though I bear responsibility for the breakage, I had the second one I installed fail catastrophically (lens collapsed under the pressure of pushing anchor stake into the soil), and though I have been able to glue the pieces back together, this is not how I wanted to start my experience with the item. I will be contacting the manufacturer in the interest of procuring a replacement lens, though it strikes me as unlikely...........

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice lights but they lose their strength in time., August 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Solar Power, Outdoor Solar Landscape Path Lights, Stainless Steel Pack of 12:
I was skeptical after reading some bad reviews, but am very glad I got these. The amazing thing is that all 12 burn all night. I got them from The Awesome Shop which advertised the 2010 version with two LED lights, and that's what arrived. The light is bluish rather than yellowish. Yes, the lens is plastic so don't drive them into the ground with the lens attached. Drive the stainless steel base into the ground, then attach the top part and you won't break the plastic lens. I have gotten up at 5:30am and they are all still burning just like right after dark. But, it's only been one week. I put mine out in the sun to charge for a couple of days before installing them. One important thing...If they were shipped in the "off" position, you have to open up the top and turn the switch to the "on" position before they will light up. One didn't work and I unscrewed the cap and found out the battery was loose. Now all 12 work perfectly all night. Not a lot of light, but a pretty pleasant blue glow.
ADDENDUM: After I've had these a few months I have to reduce the rating from 5 to 4 because they don't stay lit nearly as long now than they did when I wrote the above review. They had a great start, but seemed to loose their ability to stay lit for more than a few hours within a few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Survived a Hail Storm and Still Work, October 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Solar Power, Outdoor Solar Landscape Path Lights, Stainless Steel Pack of 12:
I purchased these lights a month ago and they all worked properly straight out of the box. The batteries were all fully charged. The lights are strong enough to light the immediate area with a soft glow so that I can find my way from the front yard to the back yard without turning on the outdoor lights. Even the lights in the shadier areas of my yard collect enough solar energy during the day so that they light the path all night. The construction of the lights is mostly plastic except for the aluminum tube used for support, and the top piece of the light which holds the solar collector and protects the battery and LED which supplies the light. This weekend we had a hail storm with golf-ball sized hail, which lasted for 15 stressful minutes, damaging the roof, car port and breaking out the sky lights in the house. I didn't expect anything to be left of the solar lights after all that hail. The aluminum cover with the solar collector seems to have mitigated a lot of the damage and was able to protect the battery and LED underneath. Even with the damage to most of the plastic parts, all 12 solar lights still work. I'm amazed at the toughness of these "cheap" solar lights.

2.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE of return policy, May 23, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Solar Power, Outdoor Solar Landscape Path Lights, Stainless Steel Pack of 12:
i purchased this solar lights on 1st of may 2011 was delighted with the appearance, it was very nice and seems durable, so we decided to purchase more of it, i manage to swiftly ordered a pack of 12 more lights just by going through the order list under my account. The lights arrived on 14th of may, and to my dismay it was totally different from my last order, although the description was exactly the same on amazon website, the top cap of the lights was very flat ,the ones I had was slightly angular and it was slightly bigger in size,i can't match what i had already installed. Unlike other items, i can't return this item by simply clicking the return button, it directed me to the seller's page and explained that we need to contact amazon in order to return this item. I contacted amazon, and to top my fustration, i seems to be connected to someone from a foreign amazon call center, she can't figure out my problems and asked me for product appearance discription over and over again, she claims the description was the same even though it came from two different seller, she even repeat word by word of the product description over and over again. She also kept avoiding the question and keeps going into the details of the transaction. When i told her that i am having a headache talking to her and need to speak with someone else, she starts to get emotional and explains that she was doing her best blah blah blah, then when she finally agrees to transfer me, i was put on hold for 25mins then the call was hanged up. I call amazon back and to my relief this time it was answer by someone who sounded earthy to me. He explained that i need to file a claim and wait for seller's reply in order to return the items. After 3-4 emails back and forth, explain the same thing over and over again, they finally explain that nothing is wrong with their items its just that they came from two different seller, and so i need to contact amazon if i want to resolve this. Anyway, after being pushed around from seller to amazon, i finally escalated a claim to guranteed return department, till now, i am still waiting for my return confirmation. Buyer please beaware, this items CAN'T BE RETURN, used or unused!!!

These units arrived in good shape, where installed as per instructions, and given a full days bright sunlight to charge.

They were purchased as replacement units. The units I had previously, purchased at Loews brick and mortar, were still serviceable but pretty weathered from 3 years wear. These I thought might stand up a bit better being stainless.

Well as it stands I really doesn't matter how well the stand up looks-wise, as performance-wise they are lacking. I don't expect a unit of this type to be particularly bright, but I do expect them to hold a charge from direct sunlight that lasts a good portion of the night. These fade after only a couple or hours. Very disappointing and I can not recommend them at all.

5 of the lights didn't work out of the box. Sent them back for replacement. Seem to be rusting up after only 2 months.

1.0 out of 5 stars poor batteries and somewhat fragile., September 20, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Solar Power, Outdoor Solar Landscape Path Lights, Stainless Steel Pack of 12:
I bought these lights back in June. As of a month ago, half the batteries have stopped working. Also the tab on the battery cover tends to be fragile so be careful when you replace the batteries. The tops are a little difficult to put back on once you remove them. The light is a nice, soft blue white light. It is not meant for illuminating a pathway or walkway, but they work fine as accent lights. After a year, I will add that these fail quickly and are not worth the money.
