I purchased 4 of these for my three nieces & a friend in the hopes that it would spark interest in solar and be a pretty and fun toy for a little girl.

It's neat looking but very cheap and delicate, and barely works- it may have made all 4 kids think that solar is a scam (hmm, did a fossil fuel company make this toy, brilliant of them if so). One one of them the string broke out of the box and I spent an hour trying to fix it. I've purchased many other solar toys that are quality and with the tiny solar panel keep moving even under heavy cloud cover- they're all still moving over 5 years later and they just sit in the same spot telling the world that solar works. They were not expensive either.

This butterfly toy seems to want the world to think that solar doesn't work. Or, maybe it was just build very cheaply and carelessly. Unless you want encourage more use of fossil fuels and lead kids to believe that solar doesn't work, best to avoid this product. There are many other ones out there that do work, even if they don't have a pretty butterfly.

it was the second one, just alike, when they arrived they were out of the plastic case they are made in. that case is not holding togeather and withstanding shipping abuse of being tossed around. this is a diff and more delicate iten than other solar toys, it should not be out of the plastic enclosure its made in. thats a sign of rough handeling, throwing it here and there. like the first one , now the butterfly only wiggles when it wants or when its jar-ed around, certainly not by the sun like its intended to do. i thought when it got here and i opened it, my god, same ole, same ole, not again. its very imp. to note only a piece of thread holds that butterfly above the maget and controls the whole mechanisim of this toy. we,, sumerizeing, they both came disturbed and laying out of their hard plastic encloser. its sits there with my other 50- 60 but it function comes only from jar-ing not from the sun/ mr. edmond kincaid. oak hill wv. 25901[ e_kinc@yahoo.com ] P.S I MIGHT ADD AND STRESS: I DO NOT BLAME AMAZON OR THE COMPANY, " BOTH ARE WONDERFUL TO DO BUSINESS WITH " i do blame shipping, the carrier handeling e.c.t. this is a beautiful item and pretty. you wouldnt be pretty either if you throwed thousands of times agaist hard walls and such, if you were a delicate item that worked maily by a piece of thread. MAYBE THE ANSWER WOULD BE--- " stamping delicate and stressing it, on the package, WHEN SHIPPED. THX AGAIN. MY SUGGESTION.
