This review is from: Solar Promenades (Audio CD)
The duo of Fred Becker and Jeff Filbert have been performing together as Enterphase now for a decade. Their third and latest effort "Solar Promenades" continues to group's sound explorations into deep cosmic space music. Unlike their previous two albums, "Phase One" and "Phase Two" which featured extended ambient pieces, "Solar Promenades" finds Enterphase tightening up their sound with shorter tracks. This doesn't mean that they've gone for a more commercial sound though. The music is still more ambient than ever recalling the stylings of early Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze with a dose of early Steve Roach thrown in.
The music is performed entirely with synthesizers and features several guest appearances from musicians John Dumitru, David Wright and Dean Debenedictis (who almost serves as a third member of the band playing and composing nearly half the tracks on the album). Most of the music is perfect for nighttime relaxation as well.
"Solar Promenades" is an excellent third album from Becker and Filbert and brings back fond memories of the space music made famous so many decades ago (with a 21st century twist).
