High Efficiency Regulator,
By Kublai "Kublai" (Mars) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Solar Regulator, 10A, MPPT
I bought this regulator together with their 150W solar panel and they work great. In fact, the panel exceeded the rating and the regulator has excess capacity to handle peak sun periods. I measured my batteries and they are always fully charge, but never overcharged. This is in contrast when I connect my older panel directly to batteries. That time, those batteries die out after 2 years instead of the expected 5-7 years. Handsome looking regulator.

NOT MPPT, just another PWM controller.,

This review is from: Solar Regulator, 10A, MPPT
This is the typical controller you can get cheaply and direct from China on eBay.It uses the Wellsee module to perform the PWM of the solar panel output. At any sunlight level, the output current of the panel is always the same (or slightly greater) than the pulsing current recharging the battery, even without any other load. This characterises it as a PWM controller, not as a mislabelled MPPT controller which you will pay $100s for. It works fine as a PWM controller and draws a small current from the battery always. But it is not a MPPT controller - that requires more expensive buck-boost converter circuitry. Enjoy !

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Solar Regulator, 10A, MPPT
This little solar Regulator does the job, I had a similar 10 amp without MPPT and there is a world of difference.
The charging capability is at least 25% better then normal regulators. This product does it's job for a small application. Would not recommend going over 80 watts for a solar panel for this unit, and always protect with a fuse. I am running this Controller with a 60 watt panel I built myself, so far so good.
