INCREDIBLE! just INCREDIBLE!,
By Eric Jordan (Portland, OR USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Solarium / Delirium (Audio CD)
I heard samples of this CD from itunes as soon as it came out and even before I bought it I already knew that I HAD to have this spectacular 2-CD set. And it is worth BEYOND every penny, I'm telling you all! Upbeat Dance remixes aren't for everyone's tastes, but I absolutely LOVE both CD's worth of music (the first disc, Solarium is the slow Chill remixes and the Delirium is the second disc of upbeat Dance remixes.)The remixes by all of the artists are incredibly well done, ESPECIALLY Roger Sanchez's remix of "Kumbalawe," perhaps my favorite track. The Delirium disc sounds a LOT like techno, but it's like techno with the use of many more timbres, mainly with use of instruments other than just synthesizers; Congas and other percussion instruments are used on "Emballa" and "Spiritual Ritual," and the original acoustic guitar is used on "Africa." The Delirium disc is EXCELLENT to listen to while driving on the highway. The solarium disc is very relaxing to listen to, and it would be EXCELLENT "party" music if you were having guests at your place. Well hey, put the solarium disc on! I enjoy listening to these Discs not just because of their remixes, but also for its musicality and timbre. I've always been a big Cirque Du Soleil fan and if you are too, then you MUST do yourself a favor and buy this album, NO EXCUSES. Techno lovers will also LOVE this album, especially the Delirium disc. In fact, even people who just listen to pop, rock, hip-hop, or anything commercial will find this album very distinct yet very enjoyable. I'm so addicted to it that it's not even funny. Spread the word!!!!

This is NOT Delirium.....but Solarium Delirium,
This review is from: Solarium / Delirium (Audio CD)
This album is NOT the music from the live Delirium concert show (the Cirque du Soleil website clearly states that). If you're looking for the live concert music, then you need to pick up "Delirium" (it has a blue cover), not this album because it's from Cirque's "Tapis Rouge" collection...which are remixes!I state this because at least one reviewer blasted this album but clearly doesn't realize they've purchased the INCORRECT music...reading is fundamental. With that said, this album is really funky! Kind of on the chill out side of things at times, and it's a good lounge piece if that's your style.

Fantasic remix album!,
By C.Davis "C.Davis" (Tampa, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Solarium / Delirium (Audio CD)
Even if you aren't familiar with Cirque's music, this is a fantastic double album featuring remixes for dancing or "chilling." I really like how the dance and "chill" remixes are separated into the two discs, so it's easy to grab the one I'm in the mood for and pop it in the CD player. The "Solarium" disc contains the "chill" tunes, and the "Delirium" disc contains the dance tunes. These are perfect for any excuse to relax and listen to pleasant, jazzy music, or any excuse to exercise or jump around the living room like an idiot with the music blaring. The songs aren't much different from their original sources like Alegria, Dralion, etc., but they're altered just enough to be transformed into something new. It's like finding a new way to appreciate old friends. If the music in this two-disc set is anything like the music that Cirque du Soleil is showcasing in their Delirium tour, then I really can't wait to see that show. It can't get to Florida fast enough!
