Product Description

Solay Salt Therapy Inhaler-Safe, gentle salt therapy for better breathing?recommended by Dr. Oz ---Salt therapy has been used successfully for centuries. Gentle saline therapy has been soothing inflammation and boosting respiratory health since ancient times. These time-proven breathing remedies include ?wet? salt therapy such as the neti pot (sinus cleansing and irrigation) or salt water gargling (healing throat and mouth irritation) and ?dry? salt therapy. --- Dry salt therapy is known as speleotherapy or halotherapy. The benefits were first documented in the 1800?s when a Polish physician discovered that breathing pure, ionized air in salt mines cured respiratory conditions. Since then people have sought out the healing ?salt caves? of Eastern Europe for their antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal benefits. Our Himalayan salt pipe air inhaler is an affordable, easy way to enjoy healing speleotherapy in the comfort of your home or on the go.------ A surprisingly simple solution for complicated times. ---Modern lungs are under stress from air pollution and a wide range of toxins. Dr. Oz recently named Himalayan Salt Pipes, as one of the two alternative health products he is planning on using this year. Because of this, Dr. Oz further states, Himalayan salt pipes ?are helpful for asthma, allergies, sinus conditions,? ?----- ---Pure fair-trade Solay Himalayan salt crystals are placed between the inhaler chambers, and as you breathe through the inhaler, moisture in the air absorbs soothing micron-size salt particles into your respiratory system. This safe, 100% natural breathing remedy helps relieve symptoms of asthma, hay fever, congestion, colds and allergies.---- ---We give you the purest salt on earth in an inhaler handcrafted in the USA. Our refillable salt inhaler pipe is handcrafted in the USA of high quality porcelain.

5.0 out of 5 stars These Products Work!, February 10, 2008
This review is from: Solay Salt-Air Pipe Inhaler (Health and Beauty)
I bought another brand very similar to this one so there would not be a difference in effectiveness most likely.
I wanted to review this in hopes others who suffer from allergies might read my review and get relief as I did. I was at the point where I was using a dust mask to do housework and also using my inhaler twice daily. I'd cough uncontrollably if I didn't. Even so, I was still coughing and feeling very uncomfotable. I had problems being close to my cats most often. The inhaler makes me hyper so there was that to reckon with as well.
After a month of using a salt inhaler, I'm not longer using the Advair inhaler and I don't cough either. I forgot to use it for about 4 days and noticed I was relapsing into the coughing spells a bit. You can bet I won't let it go for that long again! I hope others who read this and try it find it as helpful as I did. I hope never to have to rely on the drug type stuff again!
UPDATE: March 29th--still not using inhaler!! HOWEVER, I have to remember to do the treatment faithfully because I can tell If I don't do it even for a day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow- SUCH a relief!, February 18, 2009
This review is from: Solay Salt-Air Pipe Inhaler (Health and Beauty)
(I have a very similar Himalayan crystal salt inhaler to this one- not this exact one, but I wanted to share my experience)

My mom was bugging for me to try the salt pipe for a while, as I've suffered from increased asthma/ respiratory ailments since moving to Los Angeles 8 years ago. I have to admit- I was skeptical, and it seemed a bit too hippy-dippy for it to really be all that effective. However, she finally purchased one for me after my Advair had ceased to help anymore, and my coughing fits were getting worse and more frequent.

All I can say is WOW. I noticed a HUGE improvement within a few days of using it. I had all this gunk come up from my lungs (you do cough up a bit of congestion, but better out than in, right?), and the coughing went away as well. I was surprised at how effective this was- I let it lapse for a week, and my coughing rebounded- started back on it and the coughing went away.

My advair ran out the same time I started the salt pipe, and I haven't had to refill the prescription since. I'm glad I've found a replacement- the advair isn't cheap, and even though this seems like it'd be a pain to use the pipe for 10-15 minutes a day, you just use it while watching TV or on the internet, and it goes by without you even noticing it.

The only thing is to watch out that you don't breathe out through your mouth. (you can get the salt wet that way, which makes it less effective)

I would HIGHLY recommend to anybody suffering from respiratory problems from air pollution/ asthma, etc...

5.0 out of 5 stars It Worked for This Skeptic!, August 14, 2010
By
Monique Orrante (Napa, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Solay Salt-Air Pipe Inhaler (Health and Beauty)
Something has to be spectacular for me to write a review; I rarely write reviews. I've had horrible asthma for over 20 years; mine is allergy related only. I can't tell you how many times I've been hospitalized. Then, I took allergy injections for almost 10 years until one time I passed out from an asthma attack right in the doctor's office and went into anaphylactic shock.

I tried the Salt Air inhaler out of desperation; I lost my medical benefits and had to do SOMETHING about my asthma. My asthma medication (during allergy season) cost over $200 per month and I couldn't afford it! The salt air inhaler helped me immediately; in the past 6 months of use, I only needed my rescue inhaler a few times and that was because I was around black mold. I admit that I never would have tried this if I hadn't needed an alternative to the prescriptions, seen it on "Doctor Oz" and decided I had nothing to lose. It is one of the BEST purchases I have ever made! Allergy season hasn't even ended and I've stopped using it for now; my asthma is COMPLETELY controlled!
