The Best Commercials DVD In Print, August 9, 2008
This review is from: Sold Separately: Classic Kids Commercials (DVD)
Passport Video is steadily losing its reputation for putting out junk. This DVD is not only major league, it's one of the finest commercials DVDs I've ever seen, and I've seen them all.
The DVD was engineered with the end-user in mind: There are chapters listing the titles of each commercial, and your remote control's "skip" button actually works, skipping to the next ad instead of the next chapter!
Some of the ads are the same ones you can download for free off the web, but most of them are not: they are in superb condition. Audio on 99% of them is pristine, with balanced/normalized levels.
And Passport FINALLY stopped using watermarks in the bottom right corner. Kudos!
Contrary to what others have said, most of these are familiar, airing in the 1960s and 1970s. There is an impressive celebrity chapter, which includes several very rare commercials in great condition. I have no idea where Passport got them, but it was a shocking surprise (a good shock) to see them again.
I'm giving this DVD the highest recommendation. In my honest opinion, it is underpriced at its suggested retail price. The amount of work that went into it is extraordinary.
Strong buy recommendation.

Much better than advertised!, January 6, 2008
This review is from: Sold Separately: Classic Kids Commercials (DVD)
For the price, I thought this collection would be "ok", but I was surprised!
This DVD not only has kids toys, games, snacks & cereals, but ALSO a huge section of commercials for kids AND adults called "celebrity commercials".
A nice suprise and a fun & nostalgic collection! I remember seeing some of these on tv when they were new.
