"...a recommended addition to the reference library of anyone involved in solders and soldering." -- Welding Journal, on the Second Edition

Now With New Miniaturization Processes, Environmental Solutions, Mechanical Soldering (including Robotics and Mass Production), and Safety Techniques

You can't do electronics (some some mechanical tasks) without soldering, and those who want to do it will choose this book. "When a book on soldering requires a third update for a current revision, it implies reader confidence, for which I am grateful," writes Howard Manko in his preface to this new Fourth Edition. Readers do indeed place deserved confidence in this classic on the science and technologies of Solders and Soldering, the field's leading reference for over 35 years.

Cutting-edge techniques and materials for printing circuit boards and electronic packaging, as well as hand processes

* The master reference on the principles, methods, and materials of soldering
* Covers core concepts and recent developments
* 19 processes for soldering and heating
* Lead-free solders and safety precautions
* Design advances
* New flux processes and products, with EPA and OSHA regulations
* New manufacturing procedures and equipment for mechanical and electrical/electronic applications
* Special quality-control and inspection methods developed by the author
* An unsurpassed teaching tool

This sourcebook can help you do any job involving Solders and Soldering--better, cheaper, and with less risk to the environment. It's a working tool that mechanical, electrical, electronic, manufacturing, and materials engineers, as well as quality control personnel and research scientists, will want to keep close at hand. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This review is from: Solders and Soldering (Paperback)
It was an interesting book that could of had more where soldering actually came from, i enjoyed it and should recomened it to people with an interest in soldering.The instructions were good, though could of had more examples of things you could make, and how to do so. an all up enjoyable book for people who enjoy soldering.
