(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Soldier Surrender (Harlequin Intrigue) (Mass Market Paperback)
Special OPS had prepared him for every danger - except for being shot by a pregnant woman.
Adam "Gray" Turner lived by his instincts - he is a former Special OPS agent that has turned into a mountain recluse. Until a child went missing.

Katie Meyers Anderson - whose ex-husband and abuser has taken their son, Tyler into the rugged Cascade Mountains. Possibly to Bear Lake near the Canadian border. [she was Gray's teenage heartthrob].

Lee Anderson - drug-dealer and criminal is going to punish her for turning him in. He turned his brutality into raping Katie and now she lives in shame that she let herself become a victim. Oh but does she have some retalitory moves.

Federal agent Sam Washburn believes Katie is an accomplice to her ex-husband's drug-dealing. He wants to catch them both.

Deputy Tom Connor, the local law enforcement officer believes if anyone can make sense of this mess, military hero Gray Turner can.

Katie drags a local tracker, Jacob Robinson into helping her save Gray. Is he now dead?

Gray's childhood mentor, Hoot, died of a heart attack after being brought in for questioning by the police. Gray blames himself for his friends death. If Gray hadn't been trying to protect Katie, Hoot might still be alive.
Gray has always been known for being a top tracker, Katie wanted him to help her find her son. Gray refused, he wasn't falling under her spell again. He, himself wondered if she was connected with her ex's dealings.

Yet something didn't make sense. Why was the Feds after Anderson? It had to be more than drugs. And why shouldn't a father take his son camping? But at this time of the year?
After Katie made a play for him, he didn't want to believe she was raped.
Just a domestic argument, right? Boy did they have a lot of catching up to do. They weren't the same people as they were as teenagers.
Gray had an emptyness in him and Katie was living with her share of dissillusionment and guilt. How could she have been so stupid.

Excellent plot - very good characters - not quite a deep, dangerous tension - hormones help kick in the romance - like the cover pic.
Will definitely recommend as a good read.
