4.0 out of 5 stars Fast Paced, Action Thriller and a Great Sountrack, February 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Soldier [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Ken Wahl and his team of CIA mercs are known only to the Director of the CIA. Working only under his direction, The Soldier and his team do the dirty work no one wants to know about. When Russian rebels plant a nuclear device at a major oil field in the desert with the goal of driving Israel off the West Bank, The Soldier and his team work to take control of a nuclear ballistic missle silo in Kansas to counter the Russians. If the Russians blow the oil field, Moscow gets nuked. Somebody's gonna blink. Very fast paced action puncuated by a great soundtrack from Tangerine Dream. Ken Wahl, Klaus Kinski, Steve James. 1982

3.0 out of 5 stars Trashy but fun, May 4, 2004
This review is from: The Soldier [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Stereotypical spy/action movie directed by James Glickenhouse, a protege of Peckinpah. Tangerine Dream fans will want to view this as much of the TD soundtrack was actually recycled for the soundtrack for Thief.

Ken Wahl starred in this movie before he became famous in the TV series Wiseguy. The plot and action are not particularly original but its still fun to sit back and watch and the music, if you are a TD fan, provides significant compensation. Break out the popcorn and enjoy!

I saw this movies many years ago, and was reading a novel on a mid-east terrorist plot and automatically know where the guy lifted it from, so when I found out that I could get the movie I bought it!
