Roby James weaves a tapestry -- or tartan! -- of words worthy of her great imagination. If you loved "Braveheart," you will enjoy this book; if you like strong heroines, then Jilliana is for you. She's the daughter of Braveheart himself -- William Wallace! Full of accurate details about this turbulent time in Scottish history, you might be surprised at the character of Robert Bruce if you remember the character as portrayed in the movie "Braveheart." The Soldier's Daughter is a great love story as well the story of a brave nation and its people. Roby's characters love with all their hearts and fight with all their souls. She writes with love and empathy, and a deep knowledge of this dramatic period of history.
