Review

If you're interested in using non-violent resistance as a way to maintain self-respect while simultaneously tackling prejudice, then SoleJourney is a trip worth taking. --Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

Product Description

SoleJourney shows how dedicated and courageous individuals, following in the footsteps of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr., use non-violent resistance and acts of civil disobedience to confront anti-gay rhetoric as well as religious and political oppression.

This powerful, inspiring documentary exposes James Dobson's Focus on the Family, a well-funded, politically powerful organization that assaults the civil rights of lesbian and gay people and their families.

Interweaving stories of courage and commitment and interviews with movement leaders such as Mel White of Soulforce, Judy Shepard of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, and actor and activist Chad Allen, SoleJourney reveals how a small group of committed individuals take action against a colossal adversary-- including staging a six-day, 65 mile march from the steps of the Colorado State Capitol in Denver to the Focus on the Family's headquarters in Colorado Springs.

EXCELLENT documentary! Mel White has an amazing background and has helped so many people with LGBT issues - especially good for parents and others dealing with Christianity and gay children.

This is a journey of people that may have been terrified but just say to the world this is who I am!
Stuff like this is just so epic to those that understand how hard it can be to just be.
Humanity has burnt witches, persecuted jews the list is endless of people that have lived with peace and love but been mutilated because they did not fit some powermonges goal of what it meant to be human. People like this show us we are all earthlings.
