This fan is far more convenient and effective than our standard misting fan with nozzles. I was somewhat hesitant because you have to fill it up rather than connect it to a hose like our other one. It turns out that was an advantage. Under normal conditions there is no water buildup in front of the fan and the cool air that reaches you isn't wet. As soon as I tried it, I bought a second one as a present for my son who is in the middle of the Texas drought and I will probably buy another for myself.

Got this product for use on the patio when it is 90 degrees and over. Works well. It has a novel concept of pumping water onto a spinning disk and then a fan blows it outwards, making you feel cooler. It has a setting for the water. On high, you will get wet if you are close by but that can be fun. It is very directional, so it is only good when blowing on 1 or 2 people. The fan does not have any speed settings so I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. Makes an Arizona patio usable in the heat.

We used the Solus mister on a 98 degree day and it did a good job of cooling the area under our tent. Water consumption was 2 gallons for the whole day.

I recommend this product and this seller who shipped promptly. The unit arrived in perfect condition.

My patio faces the west and to make things worse it is an apartment with stucco walls protruding outward to make it like an oven on hot Texas summer afternoons. Before I purchased the Soleus Air MT1-19-32 Misting Fan, my patio would get up to about 120 degrees fahrenheit and now it is a tolerable 97 degrees. So the fan does what it is advertised to do and then some. The only thing I don't like (which is not the fans fault)is when it is turned up to the maximum mist setting, you have to fill up the tank about once an hour. Since I have no water facet on an apartment patio I certainly cannot complain about that and I highly recommend the Soleus Air MT1-19-32 Misting Fan.

Bought this hoping to help with heat in West Texas during out door trade shows under a canopy. The water drain leaks so bad that I can't keep water in the reservoir. Called the company and was told there is not water drain. I explained to the clueless employee that the unit has a water drain and per the specs sheet included with the product, it is even called "WATER DRAIN". She argued and argued with me and then told me she would refer my issue to the parts department, which, as a consumer you are not allowed to contact directly. She'll get back to me when the parts department lets her know if "a water drain is even a real part". Seriously, Soleus you need to educate your employees better. Unfortunately you got the best of me this time because it will cost too much for me to get to town and ship it back. Complete waste of my money and my time.

The Soleus air humidbreeze unit worked as advertised. Worked very well and was perfect for the use I bought it for. Like many of the reviewers I was very pleased with my purchase.

HOWEVER, after only a few weeks of use the unit is so plugged up with minerals I am unable to get water through anymore. The water where I live is hard. I did wonder how it would work using hard water. The description says the unit is designed not to plug up. I have lived in 13 states, east to west and have always had hard water for what that's worth

I called Soleus Air and they tell me the unit is designed not to plug up and they have no procedure to deal with this. When it first plugged I tried putting some vinegar in the unit. It helped for a day or two. Vinegar is not a long time solution for the problem

Yes you could buy distilled water, but when the unit is capable of using 25 gallons a day that is not a solution. If you don't have soft water to use in the unit I suggest you not buy a Soleus Air

Great mister fan! it kept us cool on a hot summer day. We used it on our deck. It's nice that you can adjust the mister power. I would recommend this product.

I intended to use this as a humdifier in a orchid growing area. I finally spent money on this unit after buying enough "department store" humidifiers and finding that they did not put out enough moisture to raise the humidity reading of the room. This unit really delivers on the humidity, in just minutes the air becomes very heavy with finely suspended moisture.

The problem occurs when the water stops being pumped from the reservior to the spinning humidifier disk. This misting fan has a strainer designed to filter the water in the reservoir, but it clogs with debris almost within a couple of days. The unit inevitably stops taking up water, even after you clean the strainer. I ended up taking apart the unit, installing a "water reservoir" (actually a 2-gallon jug), and I removed the strainer, replaced the tubing with a sturdier hose, and replaced the adjustment dial with a more reliable brass valve.

The water reservoir for this unit is too small for the massive amounts of mist this unit can put out. It is badly designed as it is a plastic box that is open on top and subject to leaking if the unit is overfilled or moved. The filling "spout" is a small drawer that slides out, this causes the water entering the reservoir to splash about, making a huge mess (a simple hole with a funnel would have sufficed). Lastly, this unit has a "water adjustment dial" that controls the flow of water that reaches the spinning humidifer disk. This dial seems very loose and low quality, I found it tended to clog and it was not very precise - going from closed to fully open right away. I replaced it with a brass valve that works much more precisely.
