Amazon.com Review
A stuffy room can be unpleasant or even, for allergy sufferers, downright debilitating. A good air purifier can usually take care of that, but not every room is stuffy for the same reason. Dust, pollen, smoke, odors--they all need to be removed in slightly different ways. The Soleus Air SA-150R multi-filter air purifier has the ability to sense different types of particles in the air and switch to different cleaning modes to get the particular job done that needs doing. An activated carbon filter deals with gaseous odors such as smoke and paint smells; the HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter handles bigger particles such as dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores.
The SA-150R air purifier is designed for a 220-square-foot room, or about 14 by 15-1/2 feet. It has a clean, unobtrusive design; the housing is made of sturdy, heat-resistant off-white plastic with black and gray accents. It's designed to be able to mount on a wall, and it comes with mounting hardware. A simple control panel with only three buttons--On/Off, Function, and Time--allows for a wide range of air-purifying options: Smoke, Pollen, Automatic, four blower speeds, and a variety of timer configurations. (The timer can be set in configurations of 1, 2, or 4 hours; all be selected to total 7 hours if desired.) On Auto, the SA-150R will use its ultraviolet sensors to switch to the mode best suited to the moment. Light-up displays indicate whether the unit is cleaning dust or odor; green indicates clean, while red means it's still purifying. When the air is clean, it conserves energy by going into sensor mode.
Always unplug purifier before cleaning; use a soft cloth, dry or only slightly moistened, and towel or allow to air dry afterward. Do not allow water to drip on or enter purifier housing. After 200-300 hours of use, clean grid and filters with a vacuum cleaner; do not use water. Carbon and HEPA filters last approximately 2 years; replacements can be purchased at local dealers that carry Soleus Air products. The 115-volt Soleus Air SA-150R air purifier measures 18 by 17 by 6 inches, with a 6-foot power cord. The remote takes two AAA batteries (not included). Detailed mounting, care, and caution instructions are included. Soleus Air offers a 1-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use conditions. --Garland Withers
