According to Ellen Sandler's TV writing book, this is the film and television industries' standard for binding scripts. Holds what it's supposed to, not flimsy, doesn't cut fingers, so there's a reason why it's industry standard.

It's a box of brass brads! What is there to say about something this basic, beyond that it's a box of brass brads? These are solid brass; cheaper ones are brass-colored aluminum and aren't strong enough to hold a script together, but beyond that? It's a box of brass brads!

I got these for a project we were doing for a school party. We were making paper pumpkins that had revolving faces (so we needed something that could make an attached sheet of paper turn in circles). They worked great! They are a great price, well-made, and easy to use. They were perfect for our project!

They're brass fasteners. And they work.
But they were shipped poorly, in a too-thin Amazon-box that in no way protected the red & white box in the picture. That box had broken open and the postman even thought that the contents were broken and should be returned unopened. Plus, Amazon hasn't replied to my critique of the shipping (which they solicited). You're better-off buying from somewhere else than Amazon. Unless of course you WANT to store your brass fasteners in one of Amazon's too-large too-thin cardboard boxes. |
