These opera glasses are great. They're much smaller than I expected they would be, but the description - "Solid Brass Mother of Pearl Antique Style Opera Glasses" - is perfect because that's exactly what I got! The glasses are substantial and don't feel "cheap" (even though the price is so economical!) I love the Mother of Pearl and how the little handle extends. Remember that scene in "Pretty Woman" when she thinks her opera glasses are broken...yeah, so did I. When I first got them I was so disappointed, until I figured out what I was supposed to do. I've taken these glasses to three theatre shows since I got them a little over a month ago. I think if I had one complaint, it would be that the little wheel to focus/re-focus the lenses doesn't seem to work very well. But the magnification is such that I haven't really needed to "zoom in", so I'm still happy. If you want a classy *and* funky twist on the latest binocular-style opera/theatre glasses, I think you'd be happy with this item!

I bought this opera glass for my granddaughter to use at the opera last weekend. before the performance began, one of the lens fell out. then, a little later, parts of the mother of pearl fell off. this was a waste of money and i wish i had just bought regular binoculars for her like i have used for many years. don't buy this cheep stuff.

I got this for my season opera pass. I attended the opera a few times and took these with me. They work well, fold up so they are compact, are adjustable lenses and ad a nice touch to any opera goer. For the price they are a must! I've seen other plain opera glasses at triple the price! The only problem I have is that if you don't pay attention, you think you're pulling down the handle to extend the glasses when in reality ( I did this) you are bending the metal at the joint where the handle meets the glasses. I bent the damn piece and now, after trying to put it back in place, the glasses are off kilter and need to be repaired. I'd say be careful when folding/extending the handle.
