Well, they do. There are six--all different sizes and when you hit them with a hammer, they exert pressure on whatever you're using them on. Pretty simple. They don't explode when you hit them or anything.

I bought these to disassemble guns (why I can't find brass punches at my local Lowe's still eludes me), and they seem great. One thing the picture doesn't immediately bring to attention is that one is pointed, the other five are flat-tipped. I'm going to round one of the flat ones on a sandpaper drum just to deburr it a little before using it because the ends are a little rough--but only for that purpose. It probably won't harm my stainless bolt pin the way it is, but if I weren't anal retentive, I would just use my iron punch that's in my toobox, wouldn't I?

Anyway, as far as inanimate objects with no moving parts goes, these work just fine. Just fine.

Great product, very useful for gun owners, especially beginners. Easy to use, lots of sizes, and brass-construction to prevent scratching or other problems. Use it on a regular basis for gun take-downs, and for some mods I made to my guns, no problems.

I bought these to drift pins and sights, wanting an inexpensive set to alleviate my conscience when I eventually bend/break one. Needs a little attention to remove sharp edges, but works great for its intended purpose. Would happily buy again.

if the pin you are trying to punch is even remotely tight, these punches will bend.

Great punches. I bevelled the edges to remove the sharpness. Easy to do since they are soft brass. They work very well for driving out pins where you don't want to scratch the working surface. Nice addition to my tool box.

So far, so good. The punches work well on those pins I've used them to remove.
